Position : Senior Engineer - Strategy

Purpose of the Position : MicroStrategy Senior Engineer will be responsible for migrating legacy reporting solutions to the target data warehouse platform and recreating reports in MicroStrategy. The role involves developing reports and dashboards, translating business/reporting logic, performing SQL-based analysis and root cause investigation, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver accurate and scalable reporting solutions.

Key Result Areas and Activities:

- MicroStrategy Schema and Report Development - Develop and maintain MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, metrics, filters, prompts, and schema objects. Recreate legacy reports while ensuring reporting accuracy and consistency.
- Reporting Migration and SQL Translation - Analyse existing reports and translate legacy reporting logic to the target reporting environment. Validate outputs and ensure alignment with business requirements.
- SQL Analysis and Root Cause Investigation - Holds expertise & perform SQL-based data analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigation. Support issue resolution, data validation, and reconciliation activities.
- Data Warehouse and Reporting Support - Collaborate with data engineering teams to understand data models, mappings, and reporting requirements. Ensure reporting solutions align with enterprise standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with business users, analysts, and technical teams throughout development, testing, and deployment. Provide ongoing support to ensure successful report delivery.

Essential Skills:

- Strong experience in MicroStrategy architecture, report development, dashboards, documents, and metadata management.
- Hands-on expertise in creating schema objects (attributes, facts, logical tables, hierarchies)



and public objects (reports, metrics, filters, prompts, documents, dashboards)
- Proficient in developing and enhancing reports using MicroStrategy Desktop and Web.
- Solid SQL Server, PL/SQL, SQL skills & Stored Procedures with experience in query analysis, troubleshooting, optimization, and data validation.
- Experience in translating legacy SQL-based reporting logic into modern reporting solutions.
- Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve reporting/data issues.
- Good understanding of data warehouse concepts, dimensional modelling, and reporting frameworks.
- Experience supporting testing, reconciliation, deployment, and production support activities.

Desirable Skill:

- Experience with Snowflake or cloud-based data warehouse platforms.
- Exposure to reporting migration and modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of report performance tuning and optimization techniques in MicroStrategy.
- Experience with other BI reporting tools.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.

Qualification:

- 3-5 years of relevant experience in MicroStrategy development and SQL-based reporting solutions.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant MicroStrategy or Data Analytics certifications will be an added advantage.
