The Team Leader / Senior Engineer – Electrical will be responsible for the electrical reliability, maintenance, improvement and project execution requirements of a HT cable manufacturing plant. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with planning and team supervision. The incumbent will oversee HT/LT power distribution, transformers, switchgear, motors, drives, MCC/PCC panels, electrical control systems, plant utilities and production equipment, while supporting installation, commissioning, modification and expansion projects.
The position will work closely with Production, Quality, Mechanical, Instrumentation/Automation, Projects, Stores, Procurement and external vendors.
1. Electrical Operations & Plant Reliability
· Lead day-to-day electrical engineering support to production and ensure reliable, safe and uninterrupted power to critical manufacturing processes. · Monitor HT/LT power distribution systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, PCCs, panels, motors, VFDs/drives, UPS/DG systems and other electrical assets.
· Ensure electrical equipment availability and respond rapidly to breakdowns, abnormalities and production-critical failures.
· Coordinate manpower deployment and prioritise electrical jobs according to production requirements and equipment criticality.
· Maintain proper shift handover, breakdown reporting, pending-job tracking and escalation of critical issues.
· Work with Production to minimise downtime and restore equipment safely and efficiently.
1. Preventive, Predictive & Breakdown Maintenance
· Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for plant electrical systems and production equipment. · Establish equipment-wise maintenance checklists, inspection routines, testing requirements and maintenance history.
· Use condition-monitoring techniques such as thermography, insulation/megger testing, electrical parameter monitoring and other appropriate diagnostics.
· Lead fault finding and root-cause analysis for recurring electrical failures and implement corrective/preventive actions.
· Track PM/PdM compliance and ensure overdue maintenance is closed within defined timelines.
· Maintain critical electrical spares and recommend minimum/maximum stock levels based on equipment criticality and lead time.
1. Electrical Projects, Installation & Commissioning
· Plan and execute electrical projects, plant modifications, capacity additions, machine installations and utility upgrades. · Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, load requirements, cable schedules, panel specifications and vendor documents.
· Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of transformers, HT/LT panels, cables, motors, drives, control panels, earthing and related systems.
· Coordinate contractors and equipment suppliers during installation, shutdowns, commissioning and project execution.
· Prepare work plans, schedules, resource requirements and progress updates for assigned electrical projects.
· Ensure project work is completed safely, within approved scope/budget and to required technical standards.
· Support energy-saving, reliability-improvement and automation/modernisation initiatives.
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
