Relevant experience: Min. 12 years of managerial experience in Automobile
Role & responsibilities The Automobile Head is responsible for leading and managing overall automobile fleet operations and maintenance to ensure efficient production, cost control, safety, environment, and plant health. The role requires good technical knowledge of automobiles, key market insights, and insights on ongoing trends in the industry.
Fleet Management a. Prepare a plan for deployment of earth movers/hyva/dumpers in designated locations b. Ensure availability of earth movers/hyvas/dumpers in designated locations c. Oversee availability of earth movers for urgent requirements d. Oversee water tanker requirements in different division operations.
Maintenance & Downtime a. Ensure timely maintenance and upgradation of automobiles to minimize downtime b. Schedule Adherence and record-keeping for the following areas:
- Preventive
- Periodic
- Condition Monitoring
a. Ensure minimum Breakdown hours of automobiles Cost & Budget a. Prepare monthly budget of spares, diesel, and consumables and monitor all expenses to reduce automobile operation and maintenance cost b. Monitor all expenses and ensure adherence to monthly budget c. Take initiatives to reduce diesel consumption
Inventory Management a. Prepare spare list with upper and lower limit b. Maintain consumable, diesel and inventory levels between lower and upper thresholds
Business Improvements a. Identify & prepare business cases for innovation ideas for cost saving, efficiency improvement and digital enhancement.
b. Execute the approved business cases in a timely and efficient manner
Compliance a. Implementation of compliance requirements as entrusted by management b. Ensure timely pollution certification of all equipment c.
Resolution of all internal/external audit points within the stipulated time frame
Manpower Management a. Ensure smooth communication among division/department heads to ensure daily target productivity and efficient operations.
b. Adherence to Manning Norms decided by Management and develop further manpower optimisation plans c. Responsible for recruitment against the approved vacancies in timely manner d. Conflict Cases reported to Grievance committee & resolution in timely manner e. Attrition rate and Absenteeism reduction f. Training need Identification & imparting training
MIS and reporting a. Prepare and analyse various MIS reports (Vehicle daily status report- daily running hours, diesel consumption and status, water tanker trips report, monthly diesel consumption average report)
b. Take appropriate action against deviations.
Safety, Housekeeping & Environment a. Maintain a zero-unsafe act, zero unsafe condition workplace b. Take/implement corrective actions for all incidents reported c. Create and ensure SOPs are in place for safe plant operations.
d. Implement 5S practices in the Automobile e. Housekeeping Maintain plant cleanliness, ensure material in designated place and organised f. Ensure that the plant is always environment compliant a. Plant Trees wherever possible (Plantation Drive)
b. Conduct Cleanliness Drives c. Fugitive emission to be made nil Air quality within premises in permissible limit d. Take all measures and actions necessary to maintain the environmental parameters within the norms
Vendor & Contract Management a. Identify genuine vendor, oversee vendor onboarding, and ensure contract compliance b. Develop current vendors
