We're Hiring: Senior SQL Database Engineer

Bangalore, Gyansys Office | 6–8 Years Experience

We're looking for an experienced Sr. SQL DBA to design, implement, and optimize SQL Server environments while ensuring top-tier security, performance, and availability across our database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate database requirements (on-prem & cloud) and recommend scalable solutionsManage backups, restores, integrity checks, and performance tuningOptimize queries and indexes for efficiencyImplement and maintain database security policies & compliance standardsConduct regular security audits and address vulnerabilitiesMaintain high availability clusters and ensure replication uptimeMonitor systems proactively using enterprise monitoring toolsGenerate performance, usage, and capacity planning reportsMentor and guide junior DBAs and System Administrators

Specific Duties

Support and troubleshoot A.O.



Smith SQL servers and databasesServe as escalation point for SQL performance/operational issuesMaintain system documentation and perform capacity trendingSupport Azure & AWS environments as part of ongoing cloud transition

✅ Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IS, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience/certifications)6+ years of SQL experience in an enterprise environmentExperience with Oracle databasesWorking knowledge of MS SQL in AzureStrong understanding of IT security principles

⭐ Preferred Qualifications

Advanced troubleshooting & task automation experienceExperience with patch management toolsPeopleSoft experienceAWS RDS experience is a plusITIL certification preferredWindows / AWS / Azure certification desirableStrong communication skills; comfortable working with globally dispersed teamsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
