– Sports / Physical Education Teacher

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching &
- Learning

- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate PE lessons across the assigned grades.

- Develop units and learning experiences aligned with the relevant IB framework.

- Use inquiry-based, student-centred and concept-driven approaches to teaching.

- Develop students' skills in a range of individual and team sports.

- Differentiate instruction to meet varying abilities, interests and learning needs.

- Promote physical literacy, fitness, coordination, movement skills and lifelong participation in physical activity.

- Integrate opportunities for teamwork, communication, leadership, reflection and problem-solving.

- Create a positive, inclusive and motivating learning environment.

1. Assessment &
- Student Progress

- Establish clear learning objectives and success criteria for PE.

- Assess and monitor students' physical, technical, tactical and personal development.

- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.

- Provide constructive feedback that supports student improvement.

- Use assessment information to inform future planning and instruction.

- Encourage students to reflect on their performance and set personal goals.

1. IB Responsibilities

- Understand and implement the principles of the IB philosophy and Learner Profile.

- Incorporate appropriate Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills into PE experiences.

- Collaborate with classroom/homeroom teachers to make meaningful interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary connections.

- Contribute to planning, reflection and curriculum development within the IB framework.

- Participate in IB professional development and training as required.

- Promote international-mindedness, respect, fair play and responsible citizenship through sport.

1. Sports &
- Coaching

- Coach and develop school teams in one or more sports.

- Prepare students for inter-house, inter-school and external competitions.

- Organise regular training sessions and fitness programmes.





- Identify and support students with sporting potential.

- Promote participation and opportunities for students of different abilities.

- Organise and support Sports Day, tournaments, leagues and other sporting events.

- Coordinate with external coaches and sporting organisations where required.

1. Student Wellbeing &
- Safety

- Maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive environment during all PE activities.

- Conduct appropriate risk assessments before activities and competitions.

- Ensure correct use, storage and maintenance of sports equipment.

- Follow all school safeguarding, child-protection, first-aid and emergency procedures.

- Adapt activities appropriately for students with different physical abilities or additional needs.

- Promote healthy lifestyles, fitness, wellbeing and positive attitudes towards physical activity.

1. Collaboration &
- Communication

- Work collaboratively with PE colleagues, homeroom/class teachers and school leadership.

- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress, participation and achievement.

- Participate in staff meetings, professional development and school committees.

- Contribute positively to the wider school community and its values.

- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents and external sporting partners.

1. Facilities &
- Equipment

- Maintain an accurate inventory of sports equipment and resources.

- Ensure equipment and facilities are safe, clean and fit for purpose.

- Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

- Recommend new equipment and resources where appropriate.

- Ensure efficient use of sports facilities and playing areas.

Qualifications &

- Experience

Essential:

- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Coaching or a related field.

- Recognised teaching qualification such as B.Ed., PGCE or equivalent.

- Relevant experience teaching Physical Education in a school setting.

- Strong knowledge of multiple sports and physical activities.

- Excellent communication, classroom-management and organisational skills.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
