Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Manager – Sourcing & Vendor Development to lead sourcing and supplier development for electronic components and systems, reporting to Pugal. The role will be responsible for identifying and developing strategic suppliers, particularly across the China market, driving competitive sourcing, ensuring supplier quality and compliance, and delivering continuous cost productivity.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in global sourcing of electronic components/systems, with hands-on exposure to supplier evaluation, onboarding, performance management, and cost optimisation. Experience in the EMS industry and sourcing components for medical devices will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Global Sourcing

- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for electronic components and systems, with a robust focus on global suppliers.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers across China and other strategic sourcing markets.
- Drive competitive sourcing, RFQs, negotiations,



and commercial evaluation to ensure the best combination of cost, quality, technology, and supply continuity.
- Build a robust and competitive supplier ecosystem aligned to business requirements.

Vendor Development & Management

- Evaluate potential suppliers on capability, capacity, quality, cost, technology, compliance, and delivery.
- Lead supplier onboarding and ensure adherence to defined qualification and approval processes.
- Establish and monitor supplier performance through defined KPIs covering quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
- Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement with suppliers.

Cost Productivity

- Drive ongoing cost reduction and productivity initiatives across the supplier base.
- Identify opportunities through alternate sourcing, value engineering, supplier negotiations, localisation, and process improvements.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance teams to deliver sustainable cost productivity.

Quality, Compliance & Risk

- Ensure suppliers comply with applicable regulatory, quality, and business requirements.
- Identify supplier risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure continuity of supply.
- Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams on supplier audits, qualification, and resolution of supplier-related issues.

Stakeholder Management

- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and Business teams to align sourcing decisions with technical and commercial requirements.
- Build strong strategic relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For





Qualifications & Experience

- 10–15 years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor development, preferably in electronics/electronic systems.
- Strong experience in global sourcing, particularly of electronic components and systems.
- Hands-on China market exposure is essential, including experience identifying, evaluating, negotiating with, and managing Chinese suppliers.
- Proven experience in vendor evaluation, qualification, onboarding, and ongoing performance management.
- Strong track record of delivering cost productivity/cost reduction through sourcing and supplier development initiatives.
- Experience managing supplier quality, delivery, and commercial performance.
- Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to sourced components.
- Experience in the EMS industry is preferred.
- Experience sourcing components for the medical devices industry will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong negotiation, analytical, stakeholder management, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and operate effectively in a global supplier environment.
