About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer – Agentic AI to join our innovative team at Birlasoft. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing advanced AI and agentic systems leveraging cutting-edge cloud platforms such as Microsoft Foundry and AWS Bedrock. Your expertise will contribute to creating autonomous, scalable, and secure AI solutions that drive enterprise transformation.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Python programming, AI/ML fundamentals, and experience deploying large language models (LLMs) and agentic architectures. Industry-recognized certifications in cloud, AI, or machine learning are preferred, reflecting a commitment to continuous learning and professional excellence.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over 9 years of extensive experience in software engineering, with at least 1 year dedicated to AI/GenAI engineering. Proficiency in Python, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native design principles is essential. Hands-on experience with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines is required.

Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of AI fundamentals, including machine learning algorithms, probability, and optimization techniques. Familiarity with agent design patterns,



tool orchestration, and autonomous task execution is necessary.

Certifications such as Microsoft Azure AI Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Machine Learning Specialty, or Google Professional ML Engineer are considered advantageous. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy agentic AI workflows, autonomous decision-making agents, and multi-agent systems that meet enterprise requirements.
- Build solutions leveraging Microsoft Foundry (Fabric, Azure AI Studio) or AWS Bedrock for LLM orchestration, grounding, and controllability.
- Implement context management, memory, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and tool‑calling workflows to enable intelligent agent behavior.
- Architect scalable, resilient, and secure AI systems using modern cloud-native principles, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Develop high-quality, optimized code primarily in Python, utilizing contemporary ML and GenAI frameworks.
- Drive performance tuning, latency reduction, cost optimization, and enhance observability for GenAI workloads.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise-grade AI security, data governance, responsible AI practices, and model safety standards.
- Implement guardrails, content filters, prompt security measures, and evaluation frameworks to prevent hallucinations and injection attacks.




- Evaluate and compare various LLMs, embedding models, and multimodal models for diverse enterprise use cases, optimizing their performance through techniques like quantization, distillation, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning where applicable.
- Collaborate with product teams, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust AI solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers, contribute to establishing best practices, reusable accelerators, and design patterns within the team.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in GenAI, foundation models, and agentic automation to continuously enhance technical capabilities.
