About The Client:

Essential Job Functions:

- Management of design, develop, debug, and modifies components of software applications and tools.

- Leads the technical direction at the application/product level for small to mid-sized projects.

- Design, spec, schedule and provide quality implementation of a component or feature.

- Provide alternative solutions to a given problem.

- Resolve problems and roadblocks, with management assistance if required.

- Follow through on details and drive issues to closure.

- Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.

- Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique work of self and others.

- Work collaboratively with all members of technical staff.

- Collaborate with program management and testing peers in the development of assigned components.

- Participates in and provides input to requirements definition.

- Usually provides solid judgment calls and tradeoff analysis.

- Level III Senior resource with considerable and extensive experience

functional activities

- Design, build, and support scalable and durable data solutions that can enable self-service consumption use cases using cloud based technologies in an agile manner

- Support Expedia Group’s product and business teams’ specific data needs on a global scale





- Close partnership with internal partners from engineering, product, and business Write clean, efficient and thoroughly tested code

- Be part of an agile team that is continuously learning and improving

- Develop scalable and highly-performant distributed systems with everything this entails (availability, monitoring, resiliency)

- Work with our business partners to flesh out and deliver on requirements in an agile manner

- Evolve development standards and practices, Proactive problem-solving at the team level

- Communicate and document solutions and design decisions

Qualifications:

Skillset (must-haves)

- Curiosity and collaboration, someone who is keen to share their knowledge and constantly learn new things
- A bias for action and ownership
- A passion to share our learnings with a wider audience

Technical skills

- Experience building services with Kotlin, Java, SQL etc.

- Experience with frameworks like Flink, Kstream, Spark

- Experience with tools like Kubernetes, Kafka, Jupyter Notebooks

- Experience with AWS (or similar cloud solutions)

- Experience with a version control system, preferably Git

- Ability to write clean, systematic code and follow established coding conventions

- Strong attention to detail

Other skill





- Experience with other data capture platforms/solutions (e.g: Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.)
