SME (Hardware)

Position: Hardware Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Experience: 5-13 Years

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and provide technical expertise in hardware architecture, design, and product development.
- Review and validate schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and hardware design specifications.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed digital, analog, power, and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Perform hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Work on hardware validation, verification, testing, and qualification.
- Analyze hardware failures and drive design improvements and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Embedded Software, Firmware, Mechanical, and System Engineering teams for product integration.
- Guide engineers on design decisions, technical challenges, and best practices.
- Review technical documentation and ensure compliance with product and industry standards.
- Support prototype development, engineering validation, and production release.
- Evaluate components, interfaces, and hardware solutions based on product requirements.
- Provide technical support during customer issues, production issues, and field failures.

Required Technical Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Hardware Design / Product Development.




- Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
- Experience in schematic design, PCB design, board bring-up, and debugging.
- Good understanding of high-speed interfaces such as USB, PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, HDMI/MIPI, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, etc.
- Experience with power management, DC-DC converters, PMICs, and power integrity.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter, signal generator, and other lab equipment.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC, signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal considerations.
- Experience with hardware validation, reliability testing, and failure analysis.
- Ability to interpret datasheets, reference designs, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Robust problem-solving, analytical, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, networking, or embedded products.
- Exposure to SoC/processor-based hardware platforms.
- Experience with BSP/firmware and hardware-software integration.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory compliance.
- Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.

Education B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
