Role & responsibilities
Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise and monitor day-to-day construction activities at the project site.
- Ensure execution of work as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
- Coordinate and supervise civil, structural, architectural, and finishing activities as applicable.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out in the correct sequence and as per planned schedules.
- Monitor site progress and ensure assigned activities are completed within the required timelines.
- Ensure proper utilisation of manpower, materials, tools, and equipment at site.
1. Manpower Management
- Plan and monitor daily manpower deployment based on project requirements.
- Allocate workers to different activities according to work priorities and site requirements.
- Monitor worker productivity and workmanship.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure adequate manpower availability.
- Identify manpower shortages and productivity issues affecting project progress.
- Maintain daily manpower and work allocation records.
1. Contractor & Subcontractor Coordination
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors for smooth execution of site activities.
- Communicate daily work targets, priorities, quality requirements, and timelines.
- Monitor contractor performance and progress against assigned targets.
- Follow up on pending works and ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate with contractors for rectification of defective or incomplete works.
- Escalate major contractor-related issues to the Project Manager / Project Head.
1. Quality Monitoring
- Monitor the quality of construction activities and workmanship at site.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and required quality standards.
- Identify construction defects, deviations, and workmanship issues.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC Team for inspections and quality-related requirements.
- Ensure corrective actions are completed and rectified works are re-inspected.
- Minimise rework and ensure quality issues are addressed at the earliest stage.
1. Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Review and understand relevant construction and architectural drawings before execution.
- Ensure site activities are carried out according to the latest approved drawings.
- Coordinate with the Engineering / Architecture Team regarding drawing-related clarifications.
- Identify discrepancies or conflicts between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Ensure approved revisions and changes are communicated to the concerned site teams.
- Maintain awareness of applicable specifications and execution requirements.
1. Material & Resource Management
- Monitor availability of required construction materials at site.
- Coordinate with Stores, Procurement, and Project Teams regarding material requirements.
- Ensure materials are used appropriately and without unnecessary wastage.
- Verify that materials being used at site are as per approved specifications.
- Highlight material shortages or delays that may affect project progress.
- Monitor proper handling and storage of construction materials.
1. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor daily and weekly progress of construction activities.
- Compare actual site progress with planned targets and highlight deviations.
- Prepare / provide daily site progress updates to the Project Manager / Project Head.
- Identify activities falling behind schedule and coordinate for corrective action.
- Support the Planning Team in providing accurate site progress information.
- Track pending activities and follow up for timely completion.
1. Site Coordination & Issue Resolution
- Coordinate with Planning, QA/QC, Architecture, MEP, Procurement, Stores, QS/Billing, and other relevant teams.
- Identify site constraints, hindrances, and execution-related issues.
- Coordinate with concerned departments for timely resolution of issues.
- Ensure clear communication between contractors, site teams, and management.
- Escalate critical technical, quality, resource, or execution issues to the Project Manager / Project Head.
- Follow up on pending issues until satisfactory resolution.
1. Safety & Site Discipline
- Ensure that workers and contractors follow required site safety practices and procedures.
- Coordinate with the Safety Team regarding unsafe practices and site conditions.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions within the assigned work area.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents,
or potential hazards to the concerned authority.
- Promote safe and disciplined working practices among workers and contractors.
1. Snagging & Project Completion
- Monitor completed works and identify incomplete or defective activities.
- Prepare and coordinate closure of snag / punch-list items.
- Coordinate with contractors and concerned departments for timely rectification.
- Conduct follow-up inspections after completion of rectification works.
- Support final inspection and handover activities.
- Ensure assigned site areas are ready for completion and handover within the planned timeline.
QUALIFICATION
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
- Minimum 13-15 years of relevant experience in site supervision and construction execution.
- Solid experience in the real-estate / residential construction sector is required.
- Candidates with experience handling residential building projects from execution through completion and handover will be preferred.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong practical knowledge of residential construction and site execution.
- Good knowledge of RCC, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, tiling, painting, and finishing activities.
- Ability to read and understand civil and architectural drawings.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and specifications.
- Good understanding of site measurements and basic quantity requirements.
- Knowledge of construction quality requirements and inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of snagging and punch-list management.
- Ability to monitor manpower, productivity, and site progress.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel for maintaining site records and reports.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD / ability to interpret drawings will be preferred.
