Position: Civil Site Engineer – Structural

Department: Projects / Construction

Reports To: Project Manager / Senior Project Engineer

Location: Project Site

Experience : 6 to 8 years

Job Purpose To supervise and manage structural civil construction activities at the project site, ensuring that all works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise day-to-day structural construction activities at the project site.
- Execute RCC works including footings, columns, beams, slabs, staircases, retaining walls and other structural elements.
- Study and understand structural drawings, working drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and specifications.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out as per approved structural drawings and engineering specifications.
- Check reinforcement steel, shuttering/formwork, concrete levels, dimensions, alignment and verticality before concreting.
- Coordinate with the Structural Consultant, Architect,



Project Manager and Site Supervisors for technical clarifications.
- Monitor concrete pouring activities, including slump testing, cube testing and proper vibration/compaction.
- Ensure proper curing and execution of structural works as per required standards.
- Prepare and maintain daily progress reports (DPR) and update work progress to the reporting manager.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and workers to ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
- Monitor manpower, materials, tools and equipment required for site activities.
- Verify quantities of materials used and assist in preparing material requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality of workmanship.
- Identify construction issues and coordinate with the concerned team for timely resolution.
- Ensure proper implementation of site safety procedures and use of PPE by workers.
- Monitor work progress against the approved project schedule and highlight delays.
- Maintain site records, inspection reports, checklists and other required documentation.
- Assist in measurement verification and contractor billing-related activities.
- Minimize material wastage and ensure proper utilization of construction materials.
- Coordinate with MEP and other teams to avoid clashes with structural works.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions at the construction site.
- Report any deviations from approved drawings,



specifications or quality standards to the Project Manager.
- Support testing, inspection and handover activities as required.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of RCC structural construction and building construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and construction plans.
- Knowledge of reinforcement detailing, shuttering, concreting and BBS.
- Positive knowledge of construction materials and quality standards.
- Strong site supervision and contractor coordination skills.
- Ability to monitor project schedules and achieve daily/weekly targets.
- Good communication and team coordination skills.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in civil construction, preferably in residential/commercial building projects.
- Experience in RCC structural works will be preferred.
