Job Summary
Pragathy Home Needs is looking for an experienced, customer-focused, and result-oriented Showroom Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of the showroom. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth showroom operations, achieving sales targets, managing staff, maintaining product availability and display standards, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring proper coordination between sales, inventory, purchase, accounts, and management.
The ideal candidate should have strong retail management experience, good leadership skills, excellent customer-handling ability, and the ability to manage a showroom efficiently while achieving business and sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete day-to-day operations of the showroom.
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly showroom sales targets.
- Monitor sales performance by staff, product category, and department.
- Allocate responsibilities and daily targets to showroom staff.
- Lead, motivate, and monitor the performance of the showroom team.
- Ensure excellent customer service and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, returns, exchanges, and escalations effectively.
- Ensure proper product display, merchandising, product visibility, and showroom presentation.
- Maintain proper planogram and category-wise product arrangement.
- Monitor product availability and coordinate with the Inventory and Purchase Departments for timely replenishment.
- Monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, and non-moving products within the showroom.
- Ensure proper pricing, product labelling, promotional displays, and offer communication.
- Monitor daily billing, sales transactions, discounts, returns, and cancellations.
- Coordinate with the Accounts Department regarding billing, cash collection, credit sales, and payment-related matters.
- Ensure proper opening and closing procedures of the showroom.
- Monitor cash counter operations and ensure adherence to company procedures.
- Maintain showroom cleanliness, housekeeping, safety, and overall discipline.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, uniform, and workplace behaviour.
- Conduct regular staff briefings and communicate daily priorities and targets.
- Train and coach sales staff on product knowledge, customer handling,
upselling, and cross-selling.
- Monitor conversion rate, average bill value, customer footfall, and sales productivity.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales through upselling, cross-selling, promotions, and better product placement.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, offers, and customer preferences in the local market.
- Ensure proper implementation of company SOPs, policies, and operational procedures.
- Conduct regular physical verification of showroom stock in coordination with the Inventory Team.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, damages, shortages, and product-related issues.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Inventory, Accounts, and Management for smooth business operations.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly showroom performance reports to management.
- Take corrective action when sales, customer service, stock, or operational performance falls below the required level.
- Support management in improving showroom profitability, customer retention, and overall business performance.

Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in retail/showroom management.
- Experience managing a supermarket,
home-needs store, retail showroom, hypermarket, departmental store, or similar business will be preferred.
- Strong experience in managing sales teams and achieving sales targets.
- Good knowledge of retail sales, merchandising, inventory coordination, and customer service.
- Solid understanding of showroom operations and retail processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and retail/POS/ERP software.
- Good analytical and reporting skills.
- Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and customer-handling skills.
- Ability to handle customer complaints and operational issues professionally.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work under sales targets and business-performance expectations.
- Candidates with experience in supermarket, home appliances, household products, furniture, kitchen products, plastics, electricals, hardware, or general retail will be preferred.
