We are looking for a talented Shopify App Developer to join our technology team and work on scalable ecommerce applications and Shopify integrations.

This role is ideal for a developer who has hands-on experience building Shopify apps and working with Shopify APIs, rather than someone whose experience is limited to Shopify theme development.

You will work on ecommerce-focused features including product search, advanced filtering, merchandising, storefront integrations, product data synchronization, analytics, and AI-powered search capabilities.

What You Will Do

- Design, develop, and maintain custom and public Shopify applications.
- Build integrations using Shopify Admin API, GraphQL, Storefront API, and Webhooks.
- Develop Shopify app features using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and backend technologies.
- Work with Shopify Liquid, Theme App Extensions, and Online Store 2.0.
- Develop advanced product discovery features such as:
- Search and autocomplete
- Product filters
- Sorting and ranking
- Search suggestions
- Synonyms
- Typo-tolerant search
- Product boosting and pinning
- Product exclusion
- Collection merchandising
- Work with Shopify product data including products, variants, collections, tags, metafields, and metaobjects.
- Build and maintain product indexing and synchronization systems.
- Develop APIs and backend services that can handle large ecommerce catalogs.
- Integrate applications seamlessly with Shopify storefronts and themes.
- Monitor and improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Implement and maintain OAuth, permissions, webhooks, billing, and app configuration.
- Develop analytics for search activity, filters, product clicks, and ecommerce conversions.
- Troubleshoot API, storefront, indexing, webhook, and production issues.
- Participate in testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.

Who We’re Looking For We are looking for an application-focused Shopify engineer, not a basic Shopify theme developer.

You should be able to understand a business requirement, identify the appropriate Shopify APIs and data sources, design the technical approach, develop the feature, test it, deploy it, and troubleshoot it in production.

You should also have a strong understanding of how Shopify data flows across:

Products → Variants → Collections → Metafields → APIs → Backend → Storefront → Search & Filters → Analytics
