Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced SharePoint Solution Consultant / SharePoint Migration Expert to lead a large-scale enterprise document archival and migration initiative involving the transfer of 10TB+ of data from Microsoft SharePoint Online to Azure Blob Storage.

Key Responsibilities

SharePoint Migration & Solution Design

- Lead large-scale SharePoint Online to Azure Blob Storage migration projects involving 10TB+ of enterprise data.
- Assess existing SharePoint environments including site collections, document libraries, metadata, permissions, and storage utilization.
- Design scalable, secure, and highly available migration and archival strategies.
- Develop migration plans, rollback strategies, validation processes, and cutover activities.
- Ensure complete preservation of metadata, document versions, permissions, and folder hierarchy during migration.
- Validate migrated content through automated reconciliation of file count, metadata, permissions, and document integrity.

Enterprise Archival & User Experience

- Design user-friendly archival solutions that allow end users to continue accessing archived documents through SharePoint with minimal disruption.
- Evaluate and implement mechanisms such as metadata-based retrieval, placeholder (stub) files, redirect links, or similar approaches to maintain seamless document accessibility.
- Design document retrieval and restoration workflows from Azure Blob Storage back into SharePoint when required.
- Ensure archived documents remain discoverable while meeting organisational retention and governance policies.





Azure & Microsoft Technologies

- Configure and optimise Azure Blob Storage for enterprise-scale archival.
- Implement secure access using Azure AD, RBAC, Managed Identities, SAS Tokens, or equivalent Azure security models.
- Develop automation using Microsoft Graph API, PowerShell, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or Azure Data Factory.
- Optimise storage performance, scalability, lifecycle management, and cost.

SharePoint Governance

- Define SharePoint governance standards including:

- Site ownership

- Permissions

- External sharing

- Storage optimization

- Retention policies

- Information architecture
- Develop dashboards and reports to monitor SharePoint usage, storage consumption, inactive content, and archival candidates.
- Recommend best practices for long-term SharePoint content lifecycle management.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Change Management

- Work closely with business stakeholders to define migration strategy, timelines, and execution plans.
- Prepare migration communication plans, user documentation, FAQs, and adoption guidance.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), business validation, and post-migration support.




- Provide technical leadership throughout the migration lifecycle.

Required Skills:

- 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft SharePoint Online.
- Strong experience delivering enterprise SharePoint migration projects.
- Hands-on experience migrating large datasets (10TB+) between SharePoint Online and Azure Blob Storage.

- Experience validating migrated content, metadata, permissions, and document integrity.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Preferred:

- Experience designing transparent archival solutions where users continue accessing archived content through SharePoint without directly interacting with Azure Blob Storage.
- Experience implementing document retrieval or restore workflows.
- Experience developing SharePoint governance dashboards and reporting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, licensing, and governance.
- Experience with SPFx development is an advantage.
- Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 certifications are preferred.
