Role & responsibilities
- Attend customer complaints and provide timely technical support.
- Visit customer locations for field troubleshooting, inspection and repair support.
- Support installation, commissioning and integration of motors and controllers.
- Understand customer applications and operating conditions.
- Provide technical guidance to customer technicians and service teams.
- Conduct field trials and support product validation activities.
- Diagnose issues related to Hub Motors, Mid-Drive Motors and Motor Controllers.
- Troubleshoot motor performance issues such as abnormal noise, vibration, overheating, low torque and speed-related concerns.
- Troubleshoot controller-related issues including communication, sensor, current, voltage, thermal and protection faults.
- Check motor-controller compatibility and parameter configuration.
- Support controller parameter setting, calibration and configuration.
- Use diagnostic tools, CAN tools and data loggers for fault analysis.
- Collect field failure information and operating conditions.
- Analyse fault codes, test data and vehicle parameters.
- Conduct preliminary Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Coordinate with R&D;, Quality and Testing teams for detailed failure analysis.
- Support implementation and verification of corrective actions.
- Track repeated failures and identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare service reports and technical failure reports.
- Maintain customer complaint and service records.
- Prepare field visit reports and troubleshooting reports.
- Maintain records of motor/controller serial numbers, configurations and replacement history.
- Track open and closed service issues.
- Maintain records of controller parameters and software/firmware versions.
- Provide regular updates on critical field issues.
- Coordinate with R&D;, Quality, Testing, Production and Application Engineering teams.
- Provide field feedback for product and process improvements.
- Support new product introduction and prototype field trials.
- Participate in customer review meetings when required.
- Ensure timely closure of customer issues
Preferred candidate profile
- DEE / BE / B.Tech Electrical / EEE / ECE or DME /BE Mech/B Tech - Mech
- Strong understanding of BLDC / PMSM motors Hub & Mid-Drive.
- Motor Controller tuning and calibration FOC preferred.
- EV powertrain integration and application engineering.
- CAN communication and protocols.
- Embedded systems fundamentals and software integration.
- Vehicle-level testing and validation techniques.
- Test data analysis and performance optimization.
- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques
