Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Staff Nurse with 2–3 years of clinical experience and good knowledge of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Paediatric patient care. The candidate will be responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and quality nursing care to mothers, newborns, children, and paediatric patients while maintaining hospital protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Patient Care

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Obstetric, Gynaecology and Paediatric patients.
- Monitor vital signs, clinical condition, intake/output and other relevant parameters.
- Identify changes in patient condition and promptly inform the doctor.
- Assist patients with daily care, hygiene, mobility and comfort.
- Maintain patient safety and dignity at all times.

1. Obstetrics & Gynaecology Care

- Provide nursing care to antenatal and postnatal mothers.
- Monitor patients during labour and assist doctors during procedures.
- Assist in normal delivery, LSCS and other obstetric procedures as required.
- Monitor post-operative patients and identify complications.
- Provide support and education regarding breastfeeding, newborn care and postnatal care.
- Assist in preparation of patients for OT and ensure proper pre- and post-operative care.

1. Paediatric Care

- Provide nursing care to infants, children and adolescents.
- Monitor temperature, pulse, respiration, SpO₂, blood pressure and other clinical parameters.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.




- Assist doctors during paediatric procedures and emergencies.
- Provide appropriate care for children with acute and chronic illnesses.
- Communicate effectively with parents/attendants regarding routine care and instructions.

1. Medication & Treatment

- Administer medicines, injections, IV fluids and other treatments as prescribed.
- Follow medication safety protocols and accurately calculate doses.
- Verify patient identification before medication and procedures.
- Maintain medication and treatment records accurately.

1. Emergency & Clinical Support

- Respond promptly to medical and paediatric emergencies.
- Assist doctors during resuscitation and emergency procedures.
- Maintain readiness of emergency equipment and crash cart.
- Escalate any deterioration in patient condition immediately.

1. Documentation

- Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication charts, observation charts and intake/output records.
- Ensure proper documentation of procedures and patient care.
- Maintain effective shift handover and takeover.
- Complete all nursing records as per hospital SOPs.

1. Infection Control

- Strictly follow hand hygiene and infection-control protocols.
- Maintain aseptic technique during procedures.
- Follow biomedical waste segregation guidelines.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of the patient-care environment.





1. Team Coordination & Supervision

- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, GDA staff and other departments.
- Guide junior nursing staff when required.
- Ensure proper completion of assigned duties during the shift.
- Participate in nursing training, audits and quality-improvement activities.
- Follow all hospital policies, SOPs and NABH standards.

Required Skills & Knowledge
- Good knowledge of Obstetrics & Gynaecology nursing.
- Good knowledge of Paediatric nursing and child care.
- Knowledge of pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
- Good knowledge of medication administration and IV therapy.
- Ability to identify and respond to emergencies.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid documentation and handover skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
- Professional, compassionate and patient-focused approach.

Eligibility
- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing
- Valid Nursing Council Registration.
- 2–3 years of relevant hospital experience.
- Experience in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Paediatric care preferred.
- Candidates with experience in a Mother & Child Care Hospital will be preferred.
