About The Job:

- We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize enterprise database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms (Azure preferred). The role requires deep expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, high availability, and cloud database management, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability of mission-critical systems.

- This role operates in a global delivery model, providing L3 support, driving automation, and supporting cloud modernization initiatives.

Essential Job Functions:

Database Administration & Operations

- Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022 or later) environments

- Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations

- Manage database backups, restores, and recovery models

- Ensure database availability, integrity, and performance

Cloud Database Management

- Manage and support databases in cloud platforms (Azure SQL, Managed Instance, IaaS)

- Implement cloud-native database solutions and support hybrid architecture

- Optimize cloud cost, performance, and scalability

- Support database migrations to cloud environments

Performance Tuning & Optimization

- Monitor and optimize query performance, indexing strategies, and execution plans

- Identify and resolve bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, IO, and database design

- Perform proactive capacity planning and performance analysis

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

- Implement and manage

- SQL Server Always On Availability Groups

- Failover clustering and replication technologies

- Design and test Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies

- Ensure business continuity for critical systems





Security & Compliance

- Manage database security

- User roles, permissions, encryption (TDE), auditing

- Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and audit requirements

Automation & Monitoring

- Develop automation using T-SQL, PowerShell, or other tools

- Utilize monitoring tools

- SQL Server native tools, Azure Monitor, SCOM, SolarWinds, etc.

- Implement proactive alerting and incident response

Data Management & Integration

- Support ETL processes, data integration, and data movement (SSIS preferred)

- Work with application teams to optimize schema and database design

Collaboration & Support

- Provide L2/L3 support for database-related incidents and problems

- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams

- Participate in change management and release activities

- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and runbooks

Qualifications

- Exp: 5-8 years

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

- 8–12+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration

- Strong hands-on expertise in:

- Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022)

- Database performance tuning and optimization

- Backup, restore, and recovery strategies

- High availability (Always On, clustering, replication)

- T-SQL scripting and query optimization

- Experience managing databases in cloud environments (Azure preferred)

- Strong understanding of

- Storage, IO subsystems, and database architecture

- DR planning and business continuity

- Experience with enterprise monitoring and alerting tools

- Solid understanding of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management)

Preferred Qualifications

- Certifications

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator / Azure DBA

- SQL Server certifications

- ITIL Foundation

- Experience with

- Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance,



Azure VM-based SQL

- Automation and DevOps practices (CI/CD for database deployments)

- SSIS / ETL / data integration tools

- Exposure to other databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) is a plus
