We are building technology across the entire fruit journey — from how we source and move produce to how we monitor, inspect, pack and deliver it. Our engineering teams work across scalable software systems, automation, AI and computer vision to solve real-world problems at scale.

One of the areas we are actively building is AI-powered voice automation for our supply operations. We are building voice agents that can interact with our supply network at scale, automate calling workflows and improve the way we engage with our partners. We are also exploring technologies such as reinforcement learning to make these calling campaigns increasingly intelligent and adaptive.

Alongside this, our broader technology organisation is building computer vision systems for fruit inspection, defect detection, movement monitoring, packing and multi-object tracking. These are examples of the kinds of challenging technology problems being solved across Vegrow.

For this role, however, the focus is primarily on building robust software systems and voice-based applications. You will work as a hands-on Senior Software Developer, owning problems end-to-end and contributing to the design, development and scaling of the systems that power these products.

You do not need prior experience building voice agents or working with AI. What matters most is strong software engineering fundamentals, the ability to solve complex problems, and the curiosity to learn and work with new technologies. Experience with voice, conversational AI, LLMs or related technologies is a plus.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software Developer with 4–5 years of experience who enjoys building production-grade software and solving challenging technical problems.

You should be comfortable taking ownership of a problem — understanding the requirements, designing a solution,



writing clean and maintainable code, testing it, taking it to production and improving it over time.

You will work closely with product, design, QA and business teams, while also contributing to technical design and engineering decisions.

Key Role Contours

- Design, develop and maintain scalable, reliable and high-performance software systems.
- Own technically challenging projects from design through development, testing, deployment and production support.
- Contribute to system design, architecture and technical decisions.
- Understand system dependencies, limitations and performance bottlenecks, and design solutions that can scale.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested and production-ready code.
- Debug complex technical issues and improve system performance, reliability and maintainability.
- Participate actively in code reviews and help maintain strong engineering standards.
- Work closely with product, design, QA and business teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Break down ambiguous problems into well-defined engineering tasks and provide reasonable estimates and implementation plans.
- Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts where required to validate technical feasibility and reduce risks.
- Document important technical decisions, system designs and engineering practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity, engineering processes and system reliability.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical discussions and hands-on collaboration.
- Stay current with relevant technologies and continuously improve engineering practices.





Voice & AI Applications A key area of this role will be the opportunity to work on voice automation and conversational applications as part of Vegrow's evolving technology stack.

- Prior experience building voice agents is a nice-to-have, not a requirement.
- Experience with LLMs, conversational AI, speech technologies, APIs or AI-powered applications is a plus.
- You may work on building and scaling voice agents and the backend systems that support them.
- You will have the chance to learn and work with emerging technologies as these products evolve.

Success Profile

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages and modern software development technologies.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming and software engineering principles.
- Good understanding of system design, APIs, databases and building scalable backend systems.
- Experience building and operating production-grade applications.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring or production systems is a plus.
- Understanding of performance, reliability and observability is desirable.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to take ownership and make sound technical decisions independently.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and work in a fast-moving environment.
