Job Purpose The Performance Tester is responsible for supporting the validation of system performance, scalability, and stability under a range of workload conditions. The role is focused on the execution of performance tests, analysis of system behavior, and contribution to ensuring that applications meet defined Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
Key Responsibilities
1. Principal Accountabilities
- Support the definition and understanding of performance requirements, KPIs, and workload models in line with project and business needs.
- Develop, maintain, and execute performance test scripts using Apache JMeter.
- Design and execute load, stress, and endurance test scenarios to validate application performance and resilience.
- Analyse test outcomes, interpret performance trends, and identify potential bottlenecks or areas of risk.
- Prepare explicit and accurate performance test reports, including findings, observations, and recommended follow-up actions.
- Log, track, and support the resolution of performance-related defects through JIRA.
- Work collaboratively with Development, QA, and DevOps teams to support effective test delivery and issue resolution.

- Clarity, completeness, and usefulness of reporting outputs.
Future-Focused Capability Expectations 6. Gen AI and Automation Expectations
At present, the team does not have access to dedicated Gen AI platforms and primarily uses Microsoft 365 capabilities. To support efficiency, internal utilities are in place to reduce manual effort in areas such as test data creation, report preparation, and performance results analysis.
Subject to tool availability, the role is expected to progressively adopt Gen AI capabilities in the following areas:
- Use Gen AI to support automated performance test script generation and optimization.
- Apply AI-enabled techniques to assist with test data creation and parameterization.
- Leverage AI-driven analysis to support faster interpretation of performance results and anomaly detection.
- Support the generation of automated performance reports and executive summaries.
- Use AI-based insights to help identify potential performance bottlenecks proactively.
- Review, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs to ensure accuracy, relevance, and reliability.
- Contribute to the broader adoption of AI-enabled performance testing practices within the team.
