Role Summary:-
The Psychologist Lead will be responsible for providing specialised psychological counselling and emotional support to individuals and couples undergoing fertility treatment, pregnancy, maternity care, and related reproductive healthcare services.
The role requires strong expertise in fertility-related emotional counselling, patient assessment, behavioural support, and counselling interventions, along with the ability to lead the psychology/counselling team and work closely with Fertility Specialists, Gynaecologists, Embryologists, Nurses, and other clinical teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesFertility & Patient Counselling:-
- Provide individual and couple counselling to patients undergoing fertility evaluation and treatment.
- Understand and address emotional concerns associated with infertility, fertility treatment, pregnancy, miscarriage, treatment failure, and assisted reproductive procedures.
- Provide pre-treatment counselling and psychological preparation for patients and couples.
- Support patients in managing treatment-related stress, anxiety, fear, emotional distress, and uncertainty.
- Counsel couples regarding emotional and relationship challenges associated with infertility and prolonged treatment.
- Provide emotional support during different stages of fertility treatment, including IVF/ICSI and other assisted reproductive procedures.
- Conduct follow-up counselling sessions based on individual patient requirements.
- Support patients in coping with unsuccessful treatment cycles and repeated treatment attempts.
Psychological Assessment & Intervention:-
- Conduct appropriate psychological assessments to understand the patient's emotional and behavioural needs.
- Identify patients requiring additional psychological or psychiatric intervention.
- Provide appropriate counselling interventions within professional scope.
- Refer high-risk or clinically significant cases to a psychiatrist or appropriate mental-health professional when required.
- Maintain proper and confidential counselling records and patient documentation.
Maternity & Women's Healthcare Support:-
- Provide psychological support to pregnant women experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, or pregnancy-related concerns.
- Support patients dealing with pregnancy loss, miscarriage, or other emotionally challenging reproductive experiences.
- Provide counselling support during the antenatal and postnatal period when required.
- Support patients in adjusting to motherhood and managing emotional and relationship concerns following childbirth.
Team Leadership:-
- Lead, mentor, and supervise psychologists/counsellors across A4 centres.
- Conduct regular case discussions and provide qualified guidance to the counselling team.
- Establish standard counselling practices and ensure consistency in patient care across centres.
- Monitor the quality of counselling services and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the recruitment, training, and onboarding of psychologists/counsellors when required.
- Conduct training sessions for counsellors and relevant hospital staff on patient communication and emotional support.
Clinical Coordination:-
- Work closely with Fertility Specialists, Gynaecologists, Embryologists, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary discussions for patients requiring psychological support.
- Ensure appropriate escalation of patients requiring specialised mental-health intervention.
- Support the clinical team in improving the overall patient experience throughout the fertility journey.
Patient Experience & Quality:-
- Maintain a compassionate, non-judgmental, and patient-centric approach.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Collect and analyse patient feedback related to counselling services.
- Develop patient-support initiatives to improve emotional well-being and treatment experience.
- Conduct awareness sessions on infertility-related stress,
emotional well-being, relationship management, and coping strategies.
- Maintain counselling reports and provide relevant MIS/performance reports to management.
Qualification:-
- Master's Degree in Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Clinical Psychology.
- M.Phil / Psy.D / additional recognised clinical qualification will be an advantage.
- Relevant professional registration/certification as applicable.
Experience:-
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Psychology/Counselling.
- Prior experience in a Fertility Centre, IVF Centre, Maternity Hospital, Women's Healthcare, or Clinical Psychology setting is preferred.
- Experience in fertility counselling or reproductive-health counselling will be strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in leading or managing a team is desirable.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
