Job title: Senior Performance Test Engineer / Performance Engineering Lead

We are looking for a Senior Performance Test Engineer / Performance Engineering Lead with robust hands-on experience in k6 and Apache JMeter. The person should be capable of owning performance testing end-to-end, not just developing or executing scripts.

Role Responsibilities:

- Understand the application architecture, business transactions, expected volumes, peak traffic and production usage patterns.
- Define the overall Non-Functional Testing / Performance Testing strategy covering:
- Load Testing
- Stress Testing
- Spike Testing
- Endurance / Soak Testing
- Scalability Testing
- Capacity Testing
- Resilience / Recovery Testing
- Build realistic workload models based on:
- Concurrent users
- Transactions per second
- API throughput
- Kafka message throughput
- Peak business volumes
- Define performance SLAs / SLOs including:
- Response time
- Throughput
- P95 / P99 latency
- Error percentage
- CPU / Memory utilization
- Kafka consumer lag
- End-to-end processing latency

Tool Experience:

- Strong hands-on experience with k6.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter.
- Ability to decide when to use k6, JMeter or a combination of both.




- Experience building reusable and maintainable performance testing frameworks.
- Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Kafka Performance Testing: The candidate should understand performance testing of Kafka-based event-driven applications including:

- Producer throughput
- Consumer throughput
- Messages per second
- End-to-end message latency
- Consumer lag
- Partition scalability
- Broker performance
- Retry / failure behaviour
- High-volume and peak-load scenarios

Experience with xk6-kafka, JMeter Kafka plugins or Kafka native performance tools would be preferred.

Web and Mobile:

- Performance testing of Web applications and REST APIs.
- Performance testing of APIs consumed by Android and iOS applications.
- Understanding of browser-side performance versus backend/API performance.
- Experience with browser performance testing would be an added advantage.

Dynatrace / Performance Analysis: Strong experience with Dynatrace is highly preferred. The person should be able to correlate performance-test results with:

- Application response time
- Microservice latency
- Distributed traces
- Database performance
- JVM / .NET metrics
- Kafka performance
- CPU and Memory
- Infrastructure utilization

The expectation is to identify the actual performance bottleneck and provide engineering recommendations, rather than simply reporting JMeter or k6 response times.
