The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of Node.js architecture, concurrency, event-loop management, PostgreSQL performance optimization, and AWS services. The person will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services.

Experience in the OTT, media, streaming, or digital entertainment domain will be an added advantage.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js.

Build high-performance REST APIs and microservices.

Develop reusable, maintainable, and well-structured backend components.

Manage Node.js concurrency, asynchronous processing, and event-driven workflows.

Optimize event-loop utilization and identify blocking operations or performance bottlenecks.

Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, indexes, and transactions.

Analyse query execution plans and improve database performance.

Develop and deploy cloud-based backend services on AWS.

Select and use appropriate AWS services based on application and business requirements.

Integrate backend services with databases, third-party APIs, messaging platforms, and other enterprise systems.

Implement secure authentication, authorization, input validation, logging, monitoring, and error-handling mechanisms.

Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Write unit, integration, and API-level automated tests.

Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, estimations,



and architectural decisions.

Work closely with architects, frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and product stakeholders.

Support CI/CD pipelines and production deployments.

Mentor junior developers and promote backend engineering best practices.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture

Experience with message queues or event-streaming technologies

Knowledge of caching solutions such as Redis

Understanding of API security, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, authentication, and authorization

Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments

Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools

Experience with Git-based source-code management

Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and observability practices

Experience with tools such as CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana, or similar platforms

Understanding of backend design patterns and clean-coding principles

Experience in performance testing, profiling, and production troubleshooting

Preferred Skills

Experience in the OTT, media, video-streaming, broadcasting, or digital-entertainment domain

Understanding of OTT workflows, content platforms, subscriber management, playback services, or streaming applications





Experience supporting high-traffic and high-concurrency applications

Knowledge of content-delivery and media-platform integrations

Experience with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code

Familiarity with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
