About the Role

Vastu Vihar Biotech Pvt. Ltd. Is looking for an experienced, skilled, and detail-oriented Senior Microbiologist to join our research and laboratory team. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to microbiological research, laboratory testing, and innovative biotechnology projects while ensuring high standards of scientific accuracy and laboratory practices.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in microbial culture and identification, aseptic techniques, microbiological analysis, laboratory experimentation,



and research documentation. The candidate will be responsible for independently handling microbiological experiments, analyzing results, maintaining laboratory standards, and supporting the development and optimization of research protocols.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and execute microbiological experiments, testing, and research activities.
- Perform microbial isolation, identification, characterization, culturing, and enumeration.
- Handle and maintain microbial cultures, media preparation, and laboratory samples.
- Conduct sterility, contamination, microbial load, and quality testing as required.
- Develop, optimize, and validate microbiological protocols and SOPs.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, experiment reports, and research documentation.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of microbial cultures and biological materials.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with biosafety and laboratory protocols.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Guide and supervise Junior Microbiologists, Research Assistants, and laboratory staff.
- Support research projects, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives.

Required Skills





- Microbial Culture & Identification – Isolation, culturing, identification, and characterization of microorganisms.
- Aseptic & Sterile Techniques – Robust knowledge of contamination control and sterile laboratory practices.
- Microbiological Testing & Analysis – Microbial load, sterility testing, staining, microscopy, and related techniques.
- Molecular Microbiology Techniques – Hands-on knowledge of PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, electrophoresis, and molecular identification.
- Research & Experimental Design – Ability to independently plan, execute, troubleshoot, and optimize experiments.
- Laboratory Management & Documentation – SOPs, laboratory records, equipment handling, sample management, and research reporting.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring – Ability to supervise, train, and guide junior microbiologists and research staff.

Required Qualifications

- Ph.D. in Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Relevant experience in microbiology research / laboratory operations preferred.

Required Experience

- 4+ years of relevant experience in microbiology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food, agricultural, or research laboratories.
- Hands-on experience with microbial culture techniques, aseptic practices, microscopy, staining, and microbial identification. • Experience in laboratory documentation, SOP preparation, and research reporting. • Prior experience in team supervision or laboratory management will be an advantage.
