#General Summary:
Evaluate raw materials with Material Research team following Raw Material Manual and liaise with supplier to ensure products meet CSC standards. Conduct thorough evaluation of new and existing suppliers on quality systems and ability to supply material of consistent quality to CSC. Drive vendor management of fabric quality consistency, promoting fabric quality achievement and performance improvement at vendor level.
Educate finished goods vendor on material quality management; liaise between raw material supplier and finished goods vendor for speedy issue resolution and facilitate building strong partnership between raw material supplier and finished goods vendor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Product Quality: Stay current and understand global Raw Material Manual, country specific quality requirements (like GB, KC Mark), and global product safety requirements, specifically CSC Product Safety (RSL,CPSIA…) programs. Share awareness & implement to RMV’s. Maintain and analyse quality records to identify, address and resolve recurring problems with the quality of product or the reliability of testing procedures.
- Operation: Guarantee constant and reliable quality in accordance to the CSC standards. Monitor suppliers QA process and procedures, perform random testing of materials to ensure products meet CSC standards. Hold seasonal pre-production meeting with vendors to proactively identify and resolve quality issues and review quality KPI. Conduct seasonal or frequent onsite audit to make sure all CSC requirements have been controlled by RMVs well, including but not limited to RSL Test, Data Link Reporting, Vendor Lab Accreditation.
Coordinate seasonal score card report for Materials team.
- Vendor Development: Develop working knowledge of suppliers, their abilities and limitations. Offer suggestions, changes and production perspectives to improve fabric quality and ensure successful commercialisation during manufacturing. Work with management and / or other team members to implement corrective actions as needed and within reasonable timeframe. Coordinate and drive implementation of RMV Testing lab Certification Program throughout RM source base.
- Process Compliance and Improvement: Timely and accurately follow SOP in accordance with global material process and procedures. Actively communicate with appropriate CSC Matrix system and vendors to ensure most current information is released and all parties understand expectations. Drive analysis and material quality reviews that result. Initiate new and or improve existing procedures to make the development process more efficiently.
- Cross function team work: Liaise with Material developer, merchandiser, garment quality engineer (as appropriate) in engineering the fabric to product requirements. Conduct seasonal risk assessment of material performance in relation to garment requirements with all stake holders; facilitate implementation of additional check points/ preventive measures based on risk assessment findings.
Assist Material Manager when necessary on fact finding, special projects.

Minimum Educational:
- Bachelor’s degree in textiles or a related field.

Experience Requirements:
- At least 8 years of experience in textile development, engineering, production or quality management. Solid process knowledge of knit and woven production, dyeing and finishing.
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate policies and instructions.
- Proven analytical and trouble shooting skills for quality issue resolution, and collaborative approach.
