Purpose of the Role
The position is responsible for execution of scheduling & procurement basis of production plan, in order to ensure timely availability of parts in the plant within company guidelines and policies
Job Responsibility
1. Material Planning and Ordering:
Communicate the material requirement schedules to assigned suppliers basis the production plan received from PPC
Communicate the material requirement schedule in advance
Ensure accuracy of the Schedules sent to the suppliers in right order quantity and with agreed lead time allowance
Communicate and consolidation of the availability timeline and delivery of the material to the production team
Ensure delivery of regular and EOL SPD requirements as per plan
Manage Exceptions and Escalations of material shortage from Suppliers’ end
Consolidation Centre Management
Ensure timely receipt of aggregate Materials at Consolidation Centres
Manage delivery of materials from Consolidation Team and the Plant Warehouse
Report exceptions and Escalations of Supply delivery at the Consolidation Centre
Track & Monitor Material receipt & dispatches at Consolidation Centre
2. Supplier Performance Management:
Report on the Supplier performance for respective Shop level delivery
Escalate recurring material shortage issues and analyse the cause for supplier non-performance
Address Supplier concerns and issues to improve performance
Make arrangements for supplier participation in the annual vendor meet
3. Obsolescence Management
Arrange for stocks for ECN (Engineering Change management) as per plan
Execution and reporting of VAVE initiatives for cost reduction
Report shop inventory for to-be phased out materials and the pipeline at Suppler end
Provide advance communication to the allotted vendors regarding discontinuation of specific material parts to be phased out
Update the pending material requirements and the time frame for the material obsolescence
Monitor obsolescent parts at Supplier as well as at TML end
4. IT Systems Management
Input data accuracy in the SRM Interface effectively for communications
Input production sequence to suppliers through IPMS
Prepare reports, analyse accuracy of the material receipt and correct part consumption data
Provide inputs for system improvements
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education B.E./B. Tech (Mechanical/Elec.)
- Relevant Experience : Must possess overall experience of 3-8 years in the Supply Chain management, and must possess functional experience of Scheduling and Procurement of minimum 3 years
