Purpose of the Role
Lead and independently manage maintenance operations for the Machine Shop to ensure world-class equipment reliability, operational excellence, and achievement of SQPDCME (Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Environment) targets. Drive continuous improvement in machine availability, maintenance effectiveness, safety culture, and manufacturing performance through proactive maintenance strategies and technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for Machine Shop equipment including VMCs, HMCs, CNC machining centers, grinding machines, honing machines, robotic washing systems, CNC washing systems, fixtures, and central coolant systems.
- Drive improvements in equipment uptime, OEE, MTBF, and MTTR through structured maintenance practices and root cause analysis.
- Perform and supervise critical maintenance activities including spindle replacement, ATC maintenance, servo system troubleshooting, and hydraulic/pneumatic fault diagnosis.
- Resolve machining and quality issues arising from machine-related defects, including spindle runout, alignment, repeatability, and process capability concerns.
- Ensure accurate maintenance documentation, downtime analysis, spare management, and SAP-based maintenance records.
- Lead Kaizen, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Loss Cost Analysis (LCA) initiatives to enhance reliability and productivity.
- Identify and implement debottlenecking, automation, and productivity improvement opportunities to increase manufacturing capacity.
- Drive energy conservation initiatives through optimization of power consumption, compressed air usage, and utility systems.
- Develop and execute cost reduction projects through innovative maintenance practices, process improvements, and reliability enhancement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and other cross-functional teams for effective resolution of technical and operational challenges.
- Manage CNC, PLC, HMI, and machine program backups while ensuring data integrity and system reliability.
- Drive TPM pillar activities, maintenance standards, planned maintenance schedules, and manpower optimization.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety systems, statutory requirements, HIRA, Safe Work Practices, DuPont Safety Standards, AIA, and EHS guidelines.
- Foster a culture of safety, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
- Lead team performance management, capability development,
contractor management, conflict resolution, and industrial relations matters.

Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- FULLTIME B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, or related Engineering disciplines
- AMIE Qualification
Experience
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in Machine Shop Maintenance within Automotive, Auto Component, Engine, Powertrain, Precision Machining, or Heavy Engineering industries
Skills & Competencies
- Strong hands-on experience in CNC machine maintenance and industrial automation.
- Expertise in Fanuc and Siemens control systems.
- Experience in PLC troubleshooting, modifications, and system diagnostics.
- Sound understanding of TPM, TQM, DWM, Lean Manufacturing, and World-Class Manufacturing practices.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO standards, and manufacturing quality systems.
- Proficiency in SAP PM modules, maintenance planning, and spare management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Experience in reliability improvement and machine lifecycle management.
