About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Machine Shop Maintenance skilled to manage the maintenance operations for a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, enhancing productivity, and driving continuous improvement across machining operations.
The successful candidate will lead electrical, mechanical, automation, and utility maintenance activities while fostering a strong culture of safety, operational excellence, and people development.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability Excellence
- Lead end-to-end maintenance activities within the Machine Shop to achieve Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Environment (SQPDCME) objectives.
- Ensure high equipment availability through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance practices.
- Improve key maintenance metrics such as Equipment Uptime, MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC, and PLC-related issues.
Machine Shop Equipment Maintenance
Maintain and troubleshoot:
- CNC Machining Centres
- Horizontal Machining Centres (HMC)
- Vertical Machining Centres (VMC)
- Grinding Machines
- Honing Machines
- Leak Testing Machines
- Robotic and CNC Washing Systems
- Centralized Coolant Systems
- Gantry Systems and Controllers
Automation & Controls
- Manage and troubleshoot Fanuc CNC and Siemens CNC platforms (802D SL, 828D, 840D).
- Maintain Siemens PLC systems (S7-200, S7-300), Profibus networks, and machine communication systems.
- Ensure CNC and PLC backups, controller health, and system data integrity.
- Support machine upgrades, automation enhancements, and technology improvements.
Operational Improvement
- Lead TPM, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Loss Cost Analysis initiatives.
- Drive debottlenecking, cycle-time reduction, and process optimization projects.
- Implement cost reduction and maintenance productivity improvement initiatives.
- Optimize power, utility, and compressed air consumption through targeted improvement projects.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Support manufacturing quality objectives by resolving machine-related quality concerns.
- Ensure compliance with IATF requirements and manufacturing quality standards.
- Drive adherence to safety systems, HIRA, safe work practices, accident investigation processes,
and statutory requirements.
- Promote a zero-harm and safety-first culture across maintenance operations.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop maintenance teams through coaching, capability building, and performance management.
- Drive workforce planning and skill enhancement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchase, Projects, and Safety teams to improve plant performance.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education - FULLTIME REGULAR BE/ B.Tech in any of the following disciplines:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Instrumentation or related disciplines
