Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA Manager - API Testing to lead the quality assurance function for API-based applications and integration platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining QA strategies, managing testing teams, ensuring API quality, automating test processes, and driving continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a team of QA engineers focused on API testing and automation.
- Define and implement API testing strategies, standards, and best practices.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and microservices-based APIs.
- Oversee functional, integration, regression, performance, security, and end-to-end API testing activities.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Architects, and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
- Drive test automation initiatives using API automation frameworks.
- Monitor defect management processes and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Validate API contracts, request/response payloads, authentication mechanisms, and data integrity.
- Ensure quality gates are integrated within CI/CD pipelines.
- Report QA metrics, risks, testing progress, and release readiness to leadership.
- Mentor and develop QA team members while fostering a quality-first culture.
- Participate in release planning, production validation,



and root cause analysis.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of software testing experience with at least 3+ years in a QA leadership/management role.
- Strong expertise in API testing methodologies and tools.
- Experience testing REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and Microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as:
- Postman
- Swagger/OpenAPI
- SoapUI
- Rest Assured
- JMeter
- Karate Framework

- Strong understanding of JSON, XML, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, OAuth, JWT, and API security concepts.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Exposure to API gateways (Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, Azure API Management).
- Experience with security testing tools such as OWASP ZAP or Burp Suite.
- Certifications such as ISTQB, CSM, PMP, Microsoft Azure, or AWS certifications.
- Experience in regulated industries such as Banking, Healthcare, or Insurance.
