Role: Senior Liferay Full-Stack Developer

Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)

Contract Duration: 6 months with extension

Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)

Work Hours: 3:30am-11:30am ET

Location: Hybrid 3 days onsite in Pune, India

ROLE SUMMARY Designs, develops, and supports enterprise portal solutions using Liferay DXP, Java/Jakarta EE, React, and related technologies. Delivers secure, scalable, and high-performing digital experiences through portal development, system integrations, and full-stack engineering practices that support customer, partner, and internal business capabilities.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform hands-on design and development for enterprise portal projects.
- Support web portal initiatives with a focus on usability, functionality, accessibility, and performance.
- Deliver technical solutions that meet business requirements and project schedules.
- Develop and execute unit and integration testing to validate solution quality and reliability.
- Provide technical input for effort estimates, solution design activities, and project planning discussions.
- Develop solutions that align with established standards and best practices for security, scalability, maintainability, reusability, and performance.
- Apply industry best practices, architectural standards, and departmental policies and procedures to development activities.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues across the application stack.
- Contribute to the delivery of customer-facing and extranet portal solutions from design through production deployment.
- Participate in peer code reviews and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and support materials.
- Support portal deployments, upgrades,



and production release activities.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Liferay Platform Expertise

- Expert-level proficiency in Liferay DXP 7.4 architecture, administration, and development best practices.
- Expertise in OSGi development, Service Builder, Headless REST APIs, portal customization, and modular application design.
- Solid knowledge of sites, users, organizations, permissions, workflows, and content management capabilities.
- Proficiency in configuring, upgrading, and supporting enterprise Liferay environments.
- Strong understanding of Elasticsearch-based search implementations and portal search optimization.

Java & Enterprise Development

- Expert-level proficiency in Java, Jakarta EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and enterprise application development principles.
- Strong understanding of RESTful services, enterprise integration patterns, and service-oriented architectures.
- Proficiency in unit testing practices using JUnit or comparable testing frameworks.

React & Front-End Development

- Expert-level proficiency in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and modern CSS frameworks including Tailwind CSS.
- Strong knowledge of client extensions, React custom elements, and headless integration approaches within Liferay.
- Proficiency in front-end testing methodologies and frameworks such as Jest.

DevOps & Cloud

- Proficiency with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, source control management,



and deployment automation practices.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services and enterprise application deployment strategies.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools including GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and related engineering productivity platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with Docker containerization technologies.
- Knowledge of Azure platform services and enterprise cloud architectures.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled solutions, intelligent search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and document-based AI capabilities.
- Knowledge of enterprise content management platforms and complex system integration patterns.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of software development experience including enterprise portal development.
- 5+ years of experience developing and supporting enterprise solutions using Liferay DXP.
- 5+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise Java/Jakarta EE applications.
- 4+ years of experience developing applications using React.
- Experience delivering customer-facing, partner-facing, or extranet portal solutions.
- Experience working within Agile software development teams and SDLC best practices.
- Experience providing technical guidance and mentoring within development teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders and cross-functional technical teams.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field strongly preferred.
