Role Description The Senior Java with Kafka role at MindBrain is a full time position based in Bengaluru with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing a balance between onsite collaboration and work from home. In this role, the professional will design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and microservices, integrating Kafka for reliable, scalable event-driven architectures. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient code, reviewing peer code for quality and performance, and implementing design patterns and best practices.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, refine technical solutions, and troubleshoot production issues. The individual will also optimize system performance,



contribute to architectural decisions, mentor junior team members, and support continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

Qualifications

- Strong Software Development and Programming skills, with advanced proficiency in Java and experience in building enterprise-grade applications.
- Hands-on experience with Jakarta EE and related frameworks for building scalable and secure server-side solutions.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing Microservices architectures, including integration with Kafka for messaging and streaming.
- Ability to apply relevant Design Patterns and engineering best practices to create maintainable, modular, and high-performance systems.
- 6+ years of professional experience in Java development, including work on distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Kafka configuration, topic design, consumer/producer development, and monitoring in production environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containers (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control tools such as Git.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in hybrid teams, and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
