Role Description

GCP Security Specialist (Contractor) Financial Services | Banking | Google Cloud Security We are seeking a senior Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Security Specialist to support a strategic banking and capital markets engagement. The consultant will help accelerate the certification, hardening, governance, and secure adoption of Google Cloud services within a highly regulated financial services workplace. This role requires deep GCP security expertise combined with practical experience supporting enterprise security, compliance, and cloud governance programs.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead security architecture reviews, threat assessments, and hardening activities for Google Cloud services.
- Support cloud service certification, control mapping, evidence collection, and security approval processes required in regulated banking environments.
- Provide expertise across BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Redis, GKE, Cloud Run, and other Google-native services.
- Implement and advise on IAM, VPC Service Controls, Security Command Center, Chronicle, Cloud KMS, CMEK, DLP, and BeyondCorp.
- Design secure landing zones, governance controls, and security guardrails for enterprise cloud adoption.
- Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code deployments using Terraform.
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, risk, compliance,



and security teams to accelerate cloud adoption while maintaining regulatory requirements.

Required

Qualifications

- 8+ years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity architecture, or enterprise cloud consulting.
- 5+ years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting banking, capital markets, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience with security control mapping, cloud governance, compliance, audit support, and risk management programs.
- Strong knowledge of Zero Trust principles, identity security, data protection, and cloud-native security services.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and DevSecOps practices.

Preferred

Qualifications

- Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification.
- Experience supporting Tier-1 financial institutions.
- Experience with cloud service onboarding, certification, and security sign-off processes.
- Multi-cloud experience across GCP, AWS, and Azure. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal consultant has helped regulated enterprises secure and certify cloud-native services, reduce approval timelines, implement enterprise security controls, and enable large-scale cloud modernization initiatives.

Experience working directly with banking clients and regulatory-driven cloud programs is highly desirable.
