Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Senior Consultant with a strong background in the retail industry to support the SAP S/4HANA stores rollout. The consultant will play a critical role in designing, reviewing, and deploying P2P processes across store and distribution centre operations, with a focus on retail-specific requirements, functional specification reviews, and integration oversight.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in SAP S/4HANA Materials Management and Invoice Verification, IS-Retail purchasing and replenishment, supplier and vendor management, and the integration of procurement with finance, logistics and store operations.

Role Details Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Functional Specification Review:

- Collaborate with retail buying, supply chain and store operations stakeholders to gather and document P2P requirements specific to the store rollout.
- Review and validate functional specifications for P2P processes, ensuring alignment with retail industry best practices and SAP standards.
- Provide recommendations for process optimization across purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt, invoice verification, consignment, rebates and vendor reconciliation.

Integration Oversight:

- Oversee the integration of P2P processes with retail-specific components such as SAP IS-Retail article master, SAP EWM, SAP Ariba and downstream Finance (FI/CO) postings.
- Manage end-to-end data flow between store replenishment, distribution centre inventory management, supplier invoicing and financial reporting.
- Validate test scenarios, integration tests,



and UAT results to ensure seamless integration across procurement, logistics and finance streams.

Retail-Specific Procurement Compliance:

- Define and implement purchasing and invoice verification configurations tailored for retail, ensuring compliance with regional VAT requirements and MAF procurement policy.
- Design automated three-way match, tolerance and self-billing processes for high-volume retail transactions.
- Coordinate integration with supplier portals, EDI partners and third-party procurement platforms used across the retail supply base.

Project Management Support:

- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for P2P in retail processes throughout the rollout lifecycle, from design through store go-live and hypercare.
- Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies for rollout-specific challenges, such as high purchase order volumes, supplier onboarding and store readiness.
- Ensure alignment of rollout milestones related to procurement readiness, master data and integration.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Act as the primary contact for P2P topics in the retail stream, collaborating with buying and merchandising teams, supply chain, finance, SAP consultants, and external suppliers.




- Conduct workshops and training sessions for store and buying users to drive adoption of P2P functionalities.

Functional/Technical Competencies

Experience:

- Minimum 10+ years of experience in SAP MM/P2P with at least 2 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementations or rollouts.
- Proven expertise in retail procurement processes, including store replenishment, purchasing, goods receipt and multi-location supplier management.
- Strong background in P2P processes: requisitioning, purchasing, inventory postings, logistics invoice verification, and accounts payable integration.
- Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA store rollout and multi-site deployment projects.

Technical Skills:

- Knowledge of SAP MM configuration, pricing and condition techniques, output determination and release strategies.
- Experience with retail-specific SAP modules (e.g., IS-Retail, EWM, Ariba, CAR).
- Proficiency in functional spec documentation and SAP module integration.
- Familiarity with Fiori apps for procurement and S/4HANA retail innovations.

Soft Skills:

- Robust communication skills for engaging with cross-functional and store-based teams.
- Analytical mindset to identify gaps and propose tailored solutions.
- Ability to manage high-pressure environments with fixed store opening deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

- SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement Certification.
- Experience with large-scale retail SAP projects involving multi-location, multi-country and multi-currency operations.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
