Role & responsibilities

- Handle end-to-end customs clearance and documentation for import shipments (Bulk, Container, and Air), including Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB, COO, MTC, Insurance, etc.

- Verify import documentation and checklists and process filing of Bills of Entry (BOE).

- Maintain daily coordination with customers, CHA, port teams, and transporters for smooth operations.

- Liaise with shipping lines, CFS, port authorities, and port operations teams.

- Possess sound knowledge of duty structures applicable to steel, auto, engineering goods, and related products.

- Coordinate with Customs officials for assessment, examination, handling of queries, adjudication, and obtaining Out of Charge (OOC), if required or deputed

- Track vessel arrivals, examination status, and clearance timelines to ensure timely delivery.

- Coordinate with customers for Delivery Order (DO) and monitor demurrage and detention to minimize costs.

- Maintain accurate operational records and provide regular status updates to clients and internal teams.

- Handle and support air shipments, especially for small-volume steel cargo.

- Manage import container shipments, including knowledge of CFS operations and procedures.





- Demonstrate valuable proficiency in computer systems and operational software.

- Possess strong knowledge of domestic transportation operations (road and rail), including preparation of dispatch documents such as LR, e-way bill, etc.

- Have a clear understanding of 3PL logistics concepts and operations.

- Coordinate with transporters and rail operators, and arrange appropriate types of vehicles as per customer requirements and cargo movement plans.

Preferred candidate profile

- Hands-on experience in import customs clearance for bulk, container and air shipments.

- Good understanding of Customs procedures, BOE Filing, duty structures and import regulations.

- Experience coordinating with CHA, Customs officials, shipping lines, CFS, port authorities and transporters.

- Exposure to break-bulk vessel operations particularly for steel, automobile, engineering goods or related products.

- Strong knowledge of import documentation, including invoice, packing list BLA/AWB, COO, MTC, Insurance and related documents

- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and relevant ERP/logistics or customs systems.

- Detail-oriented and compliance focused with strong ownership of operational activities.
