Dusker Dynamics is looking for a highly experienced Senior Defence Systems Engineer to lead the architecture, integration, verification, and validation of advanced defence systems.
This is a senior technical role responsible for translating operational requirements into complete system architectures and ensuring successful integration across hardware, electronics, embedded systems, software, sensors, communication systems, control systems, and mechanical subsystems.
The engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers, suppliers, technical partners, and defence stakeholders throughout the complete product-development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in defence, aerospace, military systems, autonomous platforms, avionics, radar, electronic warfare, missile systems, unmanned systems, or other high-reliability engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle, from concept development and requirements definition to system integration, qualification, validation, and deployment.
- Translate operational and customer requirements into clear system-level technical requirements and engineering specifications.
- Develop and maintain system architectures, subsystem definitions, interfaces, functional architectures, and technical baselines.
- Lead multidisciplinary integration involving mechanical systems, electronics, embedded software, sensors, actuators, communication systems, control systems, navigation systems, and real-time computing platforms.
- Perform system-level trade studies, feasibility studies, performance analysis, risk analysis, and technical decision-making.
- Define and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) between subsystems and external platforms.
- Establish verification and validation strategies for complex defence systems.
- Develop and review test plans, qualification procedures, acceptance criteria, verification matrices, and system validation documentation.
- Support prototype development, laboratory testing, environmental qualification, field trials, and system acceptance testing.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex system-level failures.
- Participate in and lead major engineering reviews including:
- System Requirements Review (SRR)
- Preliminary Design Review (PDR)
- Critical Design Review (CDR)
- Test Readiness Review (TRR)
- Qualification and Acceptance Reviews
- Ensure compliance with applicable defence, aerospace, reliability, safety, environmental, electromagnetic compatibility, and engineering standards.
- Work closely with program managers to identify technical risks, schedule dependencies, integration challenges, and mitigation strategies.
- Review engineering documentation and ensure strong configuration management and technical traceability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Coordinate technical activities with vendors, suppliers, OEMs, laboratories, research institutions, and technology partners.
- Support customer discussions, technical presentations, design reviews, demonstrations, and defence trials.
- Contribute to the development of reusable engineering processes, design standards, testing frameworks, and internal systems-engineering practices.
