Role Overview
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database objects (stored procedures, functions, views, triggers)
- Individual contributor focused on SP/function development, query optimization, SSIS, and deployment support

Core Development
- Develop and maintain stored procedures, user-defined functions, views, and triggers in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022
- Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries involving multi-table joins (8-15 tables), CTEs, window functions, and subqueries
- Develop complex SPs involving multi-level CTEs, MERGE, CROSS/OUTER APPLY, and advanced patterns
- Implement data integrity through constraints, transactions, and error handling (TRY/CATCH, XACT_ABORT)
- Experience writing stored procedures with 200+

Performance & Optimization
- Analyze and resolve slow-running queries using execution plans, DMVs, and Extended Events
- Create and maintain database indexes, statistics, and partitioning strategies for tables with 1M-10M+ rows




- Ability to read and interpret execution plans to identify performance issues
- Core skills: T-SQL, execution plans, index design, Git
- Monitor and respond to SQL Agent job failures, blocking alerts, and performance issues
- Production health and incident resolution
- Advanced skills: Deadlock/blocking analysis, lock internals, tempdb tuning, CI/CD

Deployment Process
- Write rollout/rollback deployment scripts and validate schema changes across Dev, QA, Staging, and Production
- Write unit and integration tests for database objects
- Experience with transactional (OLTP) databases in a production setting
