Description

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has established a Net-Zero, Environment and Climate Resilience Cell to implement the Ahmedabad Climate Resilient City Action Plan - Towards a Net-Zero Future 2070. As part of this initiative, a dedicated Project Management Unit (PMU) is being deployed to support planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of city-wide climate and sustainability actions.
The Energy Expert will be a core full time PMU resource, supporting AMC departments in planning and implementing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and low-carbon energy infrastructure interventions, and in monitoring city-wide energy performance aligned with net-zero goals.

Key Responsibilities:
The Energy Expert will work closely with the Net-Zero Cell and relevant AMC departments to:
Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of energy-related climate actions under the Ahmedabad Climate Resilient City Action Plan
Provide technical inputs on energy infrastructure, renewable energy, energy efficiency,



and demand-side management initiatives across municipal operations and city projects
Support planning, development, and monitoring of the Energy Management Portal for Ahmedabad, including analysis of energy consumption data and identification of improvement opportunities
Assist in integrating energy efficiency and renewable energy measures into municipal buildings, public infrastructure, and urban projects
Support preparation of Five-Year Action Plans and Annual Action Plans related to energy transition and net-zero objectives
Coordinate with AMC departments, utilities, and external stakeholders on energy audits, retrofits, and clean energy projects
Contribute to GHG inventory updates, energy-related emissions analysis, and tracking of mitigation impacts
Support feasibility analysis and concept development for energy-focused projects to access state, national, and international funding
Assist AMC in aligning energy initiatives with national and state program
