Job Summary
The Academic/Career Counsellor is responsible for guiding students in choosing the right career paths through assessments, counselling, and personalized planning. The role involves advising on study abroad and visa processes, conducting workshops, and supporting students in overcoming academic or career challenges. It also includes collaborating with institutions, organizing career events, and engaging with students through outreach activities like school visits and job fairs. Robust communication, empathy, and counselling experience are essential for success in this role.

Roles and Responsibilities

Guide students in determining their interests and abilities using a wide range of methods, such as aptitude assessments, interviews and planning materials
Inspecting students' career-related aspirations, concerns, and uncertainties throughout the consultation process.
Proposing career-related options that are congruent with your substantiated insights.




Informing students about potential shortcomings in their skill sets and devising strategies to remedy these.
To counsel students/clients about PR, Visitor Visa and Study Visa process & requirements of countries like Canada, UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Europe etc.
Conduct group workshops on a variety of topics, including writing resumes and cover letters, successful job interviewing, using university employment databases and career development resources, researching graduate programs, and more
Work with students to overcome issues that could undermine their academic or career success
Help students craft a long-term plan for reaching their career objectives
Plan and publicize the career services center’s programs and events such as workshops, job fairs, and orientation sessions
Collaborate with faculty, staff and other student services divisions to help achieve university-wide goals and contribute to its long-range planning
