About the Role
CEECO International is looking for a competent and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting, statutory compliance and financial reporting requirements of the company.
The person will be responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts, managing receivables and payables, statutory filings, preparing financial statements and providing management with timely financial reports and projections for decision-making.
This is a full-time, work-from-office position based in Taliparamba, Kannur. Candidates should either be currently residing within commuting distance or be willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Day-to-Day Accounting
Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts.
Record and verify day-to-day financial transactions, receipts, payments, purchases, expenses and journal entries.
Maintain ledgers and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts.
Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations.
Maintain proper supporting documentation for all transactions.
Monitor branch/company expenses and ensure correct accounting classification.
2. Accounts Receivable & Payable
Prepare and issue invoices to clients/customers.
Verify and process invoices received from suppliers and vendors.
Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable ageing.
Follow up on outstanding receivables and pending payments.
Reconcile vendor, supplier and customer accounts.
Assist management in maintaining healthy cash-flow discipline.
3. Financial Statements & Management Reporting
Prepare periodic Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements.
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for management review.
Develop budgets and financial projections based on historical performance and business plans.
Prepare Actual vs Budget/Projection reports and identify significant variances.
Provide management with clear financial data to support business decisions.
Assist in evaluating the financial performance and profitability of different branches/business verticals.
4. GST & Statutory Compliance
Handle GST-related accounting and filing requirements.
Prepare and file applicable GST returns within statutory deadlines.
Perform GST reconciliation and ensure appropriate input tax credit documentation.
Coordinate and resolve GST-related discrepancies when required.
5. TDS & Income Tax Compliance
Calculate applicable TDS and ensure timely deduction and deposit.
Prepare and file TDS returns and maintain supporting records.
Assist with income-tax computations, advance tax and other applicable tax requirements.
Coordinate with the company’s Chartered Accountant/auditors for annual income-tax filings and assessments where required.
Ensure timely compliance with applicable statutory deadlines.
6. Audit & Documentation
Prepare accounting records and schedules required for statutory/internal audits.
Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, auditors, banks and other financial/statutory stakeholders.
Maintain organised digital and physical financial documentation.
Assist in closing monthly, quarterly and annual accounts.
7. Financial Controls
Identify accounting discrepancies, unusual expenses or reconciliation issues and report them promptly.
Help establish and maintain proper internal financial controls and approval processes.
Ensure transactions are properly documented and authorised before accounting/payment.
Maintain confidentiality of all company financial information.
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
B.Com / M.Com candidates with solid practical accounting experience are preferred.
CA Inter / CMA Inter or similarly qualified candidates may also apply.
Practical experience in corporate accounting and Indian taxation/compliance.
Strong knowledge of GST, TDS and Income Tax compliance.
Ability to independently prepare P&L;, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements, budgets and financial projections.
Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Tally Prime or equivalent.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets, including formulas, reconciliation and financial reporting.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to meet statutory and management reporting deadlines.
Strong sense of accountability, confidentiality and professional integrity.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with 2–5+ years of relevant accounting experience in a company, CA firm or similar organisation will be preferred.
Experience independently managing company accounts and statutory compliance will be an advantage.
Important – Location Requirement
This position is based at the CEECO International office in Taliparamba, Kannur, Kerala.
This is NOT a remote or hybrid position.
- Candidates who are not currently based near Taliparamba should apply only if they are willing to relocate and work from the Taliparamba office on a full-time basis.
