Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Intern – Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As an SEO Intern, you will receive practical training in On-Page SEO, Off-Page SEO, Technical SEO, Keyword Research, Local SEO, and SEO Reporting throughout the 3-month internship.

On-Page SEO

Conduct keyword research and identify relevant primary and secondary keywords.

Optimize title tags, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, and content.

Assist with internal linking and content optimization.

Perform competitor and SERP analysis.

Optimize existing website pages and blog content for search engines.

Identify basic on-page SEO issues and recommend improvements.

Off-Page SEO & Link Building

Research relevant and high-quality backlink opportunities.

Conduct competitor backlink analysis.

Find websites for guest posting, business listings, citations, and relevant link placements.

Assist with backlink outreach and website submissions.

Create and maintain backlink prospect lists.

Monitor acquired backlinks and maintain link-building reports.

Evaluate backlink quality, relevance, and spam signals.

Learn ethical and sustainable link-building practices.

Technical SEO

Learn how search engines crawl, index, and rank websites.

Assist with identifying crawl errors, broken links,



redirects, and indexing issues.

Work with XML sitemaps and robots.txt.

Check canonical tags and duplicate content issues.

Learn basic website speed and Core Web Vitals optimization.

Assist with Google Search Console for indexing and SEO monitoring.

Perform basic technical SEO audits using industry-standard SEO tools.

Local SEO

Optimize and maintain Google Business Profiles.

Conduct local keyword research.

Assist with local citations and directory submissions.

Learn NAP consistency and local backlink building.

Monitor local search visibility and rankings.

SEO Tools & Reporting

Gain practical experience with Google Search Console and Google Analytics.

Learn to use SEO tools for keyword research, competitor analysis, backlink analysis, and website audits.

Track keyword rankings, organic traffic, backlinks, and other SEO metrics.

Prepare weekly and monthly SEO reports.

Maintain proper records of SEO activities and campaign progress.
