We are seeking an In-House Attorney to join our legal team and the primary responsibility will be to manage the compliance department.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and diligent In-House Attorney. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support and guidance in a wide range of areas critical to our business operations.
Your role will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with US based real estate regulations, and managing legal matters related to our agreements with local Multiple Listing Services (MLSs).
Key Responsibilities:
Real Estate Regulatory Compliance:
1. Research, review, and draft legal notices and responses to regulatory authorities in multiple U.S. states.
2.
Stay updated on evolving real estate regulations and ensure our operations align with all applicable laws.
3. Oversea and enhance compliance processes ensuring they are thoroughly documented and consistently applied.
Research:
1. Proficiency in using legal research databases like SCC On Line, Tax mann, Manupatra, and LexisNexis.
2. Ability to locate and interpret case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents.
Agreement Review and Liability Assessment:
1. Thoroughly review and vetting of the corporation's agreements to identify the scope of our liability.
2. Provide legal counsel to the team regarding contractual obligations and risk mitigation strategies.
3. Identify risks in the current agreements and suggest changes.
Legal Drafting:
1. Handle internal company agreements i.e. Employment Agreements as well as drafting responses for the external stakeholders.
Interpersonal Skills:
1. The legal team reports directly to the CEO, therefore, robust commun
