Role & responsibilities

1. CO Configuration

- Configure and support CO module as per business requirements.
- Configure Controlling Area, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Internal Orders, etc.
- Configure Cost Element Accounting and allocations.

2. Cost Center Accounting (CCA)

- Create and maintain Cost Centers and Cost Center Groups.
- Configure cost allocations, assessments, and distributions.
- Analyze actual vs. planned costs.
- Support departmental cost reporting.

3. Product Costing

- Configure and support Product Costing.
- Work with Material Cost Estimates and cost component structures.
- Analyze standard cost vs. actual cost.
- Support manufacturing processes and production costing.
- Work closely with PP and MM teams.

4. Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)

- Configure and support CO-PA.
- Analyze profitability by customer, product, region, sales organization, etc.
- Support Revenue and Cost analysis.
- Work with the SD team for profitability-related integration.

5. Internal Orders

- Create and manage internal orders.
- Configure budgeting and settlement.
- Monitor actual costs against budgets.
- Support order settlement processes.

6. FI-CO Integration





- Ensure proper integration between FI and CO.
- Work on postings flowing from FI into CO.
- Troubleshoot accounting and controlling integration issues.

7. Integration with Other Modules A CO Consultant commonly works with:

- FI Finance
- MM – Procurement & Inventory
- PP – Production
- SD – Sales & Distribution
- PM – Plant Maintenance

8. Business Requirements & Implementation

- Gather business requirements.
- Prepare BBP/BPP and functional specifications.
- Configure SAP solutions.
- Conduct testing such as Unit Testing, SIT and UAT.
- Support cutover and go-live activities.

9. Support & Issue Resolution

- Handle production support tickets.
- Analyze and resolve SAP CO issues.
- Manage change requests and enhancements.
- Provide root-cause analysis for recurring issues.

10. Reporting & Analysis

- Develop/support CO reports and management reports.
- Analyze cost, profitability, variance, and budget information.
- Help business users make informed financial decisions.
