- We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant with 8+ years of hands-on development and solutioning across SAP S/4HANA and ECC landscapes.
- The ideal profile combines strong technical depth in ABAP and SAP extensibility (OData, CDS Views, RAP, BRF+, BAdIs) with solid understanding of functional processes and integration patterns (SAP and non-SAP).
- The consultant will design, build, and optimize scalable, secure, and performant solutions aligned to enterprise standards and best practices.

Essential Job Functions:

- Design, develop, and maintain custom objects using ABAP (reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms).
- Build modern services and UIs leveraging OData services, CDS views, and RAP/Fiori annotations.
- Implement enhancements via User Exits/BTEs/BAdIs and apply clean-core extensibility patterns in S/4HANA.
- Develop and support integrations (IDoc/ALE, RFC, SOAP/REST APIs) between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Own technical designs, code reviews, performance tuning, and security hardening (authorization checks).
- Collaborate with functional teams (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, CX) to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Execute unit, integration, and regression testing; author test scripts and automate where feasible.
- Prepare technical specifications, handover/runbooks for operations (TDD), documentation, and support.
- Troubleshoot production issues; drive root cause analysis and preventive improvements.
- Adhere to DevOps practices: CTS+, gCTS, CI/CD pipelines, transport governance, and code quality gates.

Technical Expertise
- OData Services: Design and expose secure, versioned REST endpoints with deep entity associations, batch operations, and $expand/$filter support.
- CDS Views:



Model consumption/analytical views with annotations for Fiori/UI5, value help, authorization (DCL), and performance-optimized joins.
- Integration: Implement IDoc/ALE, RFC, and API-based (SOAP/REST) integrations; use CPI/PI for mediation and handle retries, mapping, and error handling.
- RAP/Fiori: Build transactional apps using RAP with behavior definitions, service bindings, and draft handling; align with clean-core principles.
- Performance & Security: Optimize SQL/ABAP (ATC checks, runtime analysis), manage buffering, and enforce authorization checks (S_AUTH*, CDS DCL, OData scopes).

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of SAP ABAP development across ECC/S/4HANA with end-to-end project lifecycle exposure.
- Strong proficiency in classical and modern ABAP (OO-ABAP), CDS, OData, RAP, BRF+, and enhancements (BAdI/User Exits).
- Hands-on experience with integrations to SAP and non-SAP systems via IDoc, RFC, CPI/PI/PO, and public APIs.
- Working knowledge of functional processes in FI/CO, MM, and SD (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay) to enable effective solution design.
- Experience with transport management (CTS/gCTS), code quality (ATC/SCI), and secure coding standards.
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills; ability to lead technical workshops.

Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Event Mesh/BTP and API Management; familiarity with CAP and Node.js for side-by-side extensions.
- Knowledge of Fiori Elements/UI5, Adobe Forms/SmartForms, and Output Management.
- Exposure to S/4HANA migration projects (readiness checks, custom code adaptation, simplification list).
