About The Job:

- We are seeking a Software Asset Management (SAM) professional responsible for managing software licensing compliance, software asset lifecycle, cost optimization initiatives, vendor management, and software governance activities across the organization.
- The role will focus on ensuring license compliance, supporting vendor audits, optimizing software spend, and maintaining accurate software inventory through industry-standard SAM tools and processes.

Essential Job Functions:

License Compliance & Audits

- Monitor Software Licensing Positions (SLP) and conduct regular Effective License Position (ELP) calculations.
- Support and defend internal and external vendor audits.
- Ensure software usage remains compliant with licensing agreements and contractual obligations.
- Track software entitlements, usage metrics, and compliance risks.

Lifecycle Management
- Manage the complete software asset lifecycle from procurement and entitlement provisioning to deployment, retirement, and disposal.
- Maintain accurate software asset records and inventory repositories.
- Support governance processes for software acquisition, deployment, and decommissioning.

Cost Optimization & FinOps
- Identify cost-saving opportunities by reallocating underutilized licenses.




- Simplify software portfolios and eliminate redundant software investments.
- Support software spend analysis and optimization initiatives.
- Contribute to FinOps and software cost governance programs.

Tool & Data Management
- Utilize SAM discovery and inventory tools such as ServiceNow, Snow Software, Flexera, or similar platforms.
- Accurately track software installations and license consumption.
- Analyze software usage metrics and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Maintain data accuracy across software inventory and entitlement repositories.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with software vendors, procurement teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with IT Security, Infrastructure, Finance, and Compliance teams.
- Ensure acquisition policies, governance controls, and retention standards are followed.
- Provide reporting and recommendations to support decision-making.

Qualifications:

Required Skills

- Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) processes and best practices.
- Strong understanding of Software Licensing Compliance and Effective License Position (ELP) calculations.
- Experience supporting software vendor audits and compliance reviews.
- Hands-on experience with SAM tools such as ServiceNow, Snow Software, Flexera, or equivalent platforms.
- Knowledge of software lifecycle management processes.




- Experience with software cost optimization and FinOps practices.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and data management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and vendor coordination skills.
- Good understanding of IT governance, procurement, and compliance processes.
