Role Description The Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Guwahati, responsible for promoting a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with Sodexo’s health, safety, and environmental standards. The role involves conducting regular safety inspections and audits, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective actions to prevent incidents and occupational illnesses.

Officer prepares and maintains safety documentation, supports risk assessments, and assists in the implementation of safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans. This role coordinates safety training and toolbox talks for employees and contractors,



monitors adherence to legal requirements and client-specific safety protocols, and reports safety performance metrics to management.

Officer also collaborates with operational teams to investigate incidents, support root-cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement in safety culture.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, risk assessment methods, and incident investigation practices.
- Candidates should possess skills in safety audits, inspections, hazard identification, and corrective action planning.
- Candidates should possess competencies in safety training delivery, communication of safety procedures, and employee engagement on safety topics.
- Candidates should possess the ability to interpret and implement company and client safety policies, emergency response plans, and site-specific safety standards.
- Candidates should possess good written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams on-site.
- Relevant professional certifications in safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) and experience in facilities, food services, or industrial environments are beneficial.
- A diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedule as operationally required and strong commitment to fostering a proactive safety culture.
