Role Overview

We are looking for a Safety Officer to manage and strengthen safety and environmental practices within a manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, conducting internal audits, ensuring statutory and plant safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement in HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day plant safety and HSE activities in a manufacturing environment.

- Implement, maintain and monitor ISO 14001 – Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety Management System.

- Conduct internal audits for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and coordinate corrective/preventive actions.

- Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.

- Ensure compliance with applicable factory safety, environmental and occupational health regulations.

- Conduct safety inspections, audits, toolbox talks, awareness programs and emergency drills.

- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and conduct root cause analysis.

- Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, records, procedures and audit evidence.

- Coordinate with production, maintenance, engineering and other departments to improve safety standards.

- Monitor PPE compliance, machine safety, fire safety, electrical safety and other plant safety requirements.

- Support external/customer/third-party audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.





- Track HSE performance indicators and report safety-related issues and improvement actions to management.

- Promote a robust safety culture and continuous improvement across the manufacturing plant.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Safety, Industrial Safety, Engineering or related field.

- 7–11 years of experience in HSE / EHS / Plant Safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

- Hands-on experience in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation.

- Experience in ISO internal auditing and audit preparation.

- Strong knowledge of industrial safety, hazard identification and risk assessment.

- Experience in incident investigation, RCA, emergency preparedness and safety inspections.

- Good knowledge of manufacturing plant safety practices and statutory compliance.

- RLI Certification / Regional Labour Institute certification preferred/required as applicable.

- Good communication, documentation and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred

- Experience in automotive / engineering / industrial manufacturing plants.

- ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification.

- Knowledge of environmental compliance and waste management.

- Experience with safety training, emergency drills and safety awareness programs.

- Knowledge of Fire & Safety, Machine Safety, Electrical Safety, Chemical Safety and PPE requirements.

Pay: Up to ₹1,000,000.00 per year
