- Patient Care
- Conduct initial assessment of patients admitted to the hospital.

- Monitor patients' vital signs, clinical condition, and progress.

- Attend to patients' routine medical requirements during duty hours.

- Implement treatment plans prescribed by consultants.

- Identify deterioration in a patient's condition and immediately inform the concerned consultant.

- Emergency Management
- Attend to medical emergencies promptly.

- Provide initial emergency management and basic life support as required.

- Coordinate with consultants, specialists, nursing staff, ambulance services, and other departments.

- Arrange appropriate escalation or referral when required.

- Inpatient Management
- Make regular rounds of admitted patients as per hospital protocol.

- Review investigation reports and communicate significant findings to the treating consultant.

- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

- Prepare discharge summaries and other medical records under the supervision of the treating consultant, where applicable.

- Coordination with Consultants
- Communicate patient-related developments to the concerned consultant.





- Ensure that consultant instructions are properly documented and implemented.

- Coordinate consultations, investigations, procedures, and follow-up care.

- Clinical Documentation
- Maintain case sheets, progress notes, medication records, consent documentation, and other required medical records.

- Record all significant clinical events and interventions during the duty shift.

- Ensure proper handover of patients to the incoming RMO/medical team.

- Patient Safety & Hospital Protocols

- Follow hospital policies relating to infection control, patient safety, medication administration, and emergency response.

- Ensure appropriate identification and monitoring of patients.

- Report adverse events, medical incidents, and other patient-safety concerns to the appropriate authority.

- Communication & Counselling

- Communicate appropriately with patients and their attendants regarding routine clinical matters within the scope of the RMO's responsibility.

- Escalate complex clinical discussions, prognosis, major treatment decisions, and consent-related matters to the treating consultant.
