Mextropic is a San Francisco–based company co-founded by IIT and Stanford alumni and backed by investors from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind. We’re building the experimental infrastructure for AI-driven biology - running autonomous wet labs that generate large-scale training data and validate AI-generated hypotheses to accelerate biological research and drug discovery.

The role involves reading research papers, deconstructing models, researching companies and their technologies, tracking the latest developments, and turning technical findings into clear, engaging research reports, blog posts, and infographics.

Eligibility

- 3rd- or 4th-year B.Tech/B.S. or M.Tech/M.S. students in Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, or a related field from a NAAC 'A'-accredited (or equivalent) university/college.
- Eligibility restricted to Indian citizens residing in India or international students with work authorization in country of residence

Duration & Commitment

Duration: 2 months, extendable based on performance

Work Hours: 30 hours/week

Key Responsibility Areas

- Track new developments, technologies, and research across AI-driven biology and drug discovery, and understand how the field is evolving.
- Deconstruct research papers and models to understand their approaches, inputs, outputs, applications, and limitations.
- Turn technical research into detailed reports, blog posts, and infographics that communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.




- Research companies to understand their scientific approach, model capabilities, data needs, and validation workflows, and evaluate how Mextropic could support their work.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Research new models, companies, technologies, and relevant papers.
- Write detailed research reports on specific models, companies, or emerging developments.
- Develop blogs and infographics explaining significant topics in AI-biology and drug discovery.
- Analyze companies’ research, computational workflows, and experimental requirements.
- Support the team with research relevant to partnerships, company outreach, and commercial positioning.

Skills Required

- Understanding of machine learning and biological sciences, with an interest in their applications in AI-driven biology.
- Strong research, analytical, and technical writing skills, with the ability to create clear and effective infographics.
- Ability to understand companies, identify their needs, and assess how Mextropic’s capabilities could be relevant to them.
- Strong communication skills, able to work independently, manage tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
