About the Position W-CReS seeks three Field Research Coordinators to support studies on the Role of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in Sustainable Natural Resource Management and Gender in Governance of FPOs. One coordinator will be appointed in each of the three states and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring field research activities while ensuring high-quality data collection, analysis, documentation, and report writing.

Qualifications and Eligibility Master's /M.Phil/Ph.D degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Sociology, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Climate Change and Sustainability Studies or related disciplines.

Experience

- 05+ years (for Masters)
- 2-4 years (for MPhil)
- PhD with 1-2 years of experience in field research focusing on rural development, FPO ecosystem, livelihoods, climate change, gender issues or related themes.
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods is essential.
- Prior experience working with Farmer-Producer Organisations (FPOs), farmer groups, or community institutions will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and implement field research activities across the assigned state.
- Prepare fieldwork plans and coordinate with project teams, FPOs and farmers, community institutions, government departments, and other stakeholders.




- Supervise field data collection and conduct focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (KIIs), and case study documentation.
- Contribute to training and monitoring enumerators and field investigators.
- Ensure data quality through regular monitoring, validation, and field supervision.
- Support data cleaning, analysis, and report writing.
- Prepare field reports, case studies, and state-level research summaries.
- Conduct stakeholder consultations, validation workshops, and dissemination events.

Required Competencies

- Solid understanding of the geography, language, socio-economic context, and agro-ecological conditions of the assigned state.
- Knowledge of agriculture, agro-ecology, natural resource management, climate change adaptation, and rural livelihoods.
- Proficiency in data collection tools, data analysis software and research documentation.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned state and Pune office (whenever required).

Language Requirements

- Maharashtra: Marathi and English
- Odisha: Odia, English, and Hindi
- Madhya Pradesh: Hindi and English; knowledge of local dialects is desirable
