Role & responsibilities

1. Quality Documentation & Certification

- Prepare, maintain, and update quality manuals, SOPs, work instructions, inspection formats, and quality records.
- Coordinate ISO and BIS certification, surveillance audits, renewals, and related documentation.
- Plan and conduct internal audits and coordinate with external auditors, certification bodies, and testing laboratories.
- Track non-conformities, follow up on corrective and preventive actions, and verify their effectiveness.
- Maintain document control, calibration records, training records, and audit reports.
- Work with production, purchase, and other departments to ensure quality procedures are consistently followed.

2. Incoming Material Quality

- Inspect incoming raw materials, bought-out components, and consumables against approved specifications, drawings, and inspection standards.
- Verify supplier test certificates and arrange testing wherever required.
- Maintain incoming inspection reports and records of accepted, rejected, and on-hold materials.
- Ensure non-conforming material is identified, segregated, and prevented from entering production.
- Coordinate with purchase and suppliers to resolve quality issues and follow up on corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and recurring defects.

Fire Safety Equipment Management

- Maintain an updated inventory and inspection records of fire safety equipment.
- Schedule routine checks, servicing, refilling, and testing through competent service providers.
- Ensure fire extinguishers and other installed fire safety equipment remain accessible, correctly identified, and ready for use.
- Track service due dates and promptly report defects or overdue maintenance.
- Coordinate fire safety training and mock drills with the concerned teams and maintain records.

Preferred candidate profile

- Previous experience in quality systems and documentation within a manufacturing workplace.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and hands-on experience with BIS certification activities.
- Experience in internal audits, external audit coordination, and corrective action follow-up.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications and use relevant measuring instruments.
- Good knowledge of incoming material inspection and supplier quality control.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and maintaining organised records.
- Strong follow-up, communication, and coordination skills.
- Experience coordinating fire safety equipment maintenance will be an advantage.
