Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management

- Lead the overall Quality Control and Quality Assurance function for the plant.
- Establish and maintain quality standards, procedures, inspection plans, and control plans.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as IS, IEC, DIN, UL, ASTM, or customer-specific specifications, as applicable to the product.
- Develop and monitor quality objectives, KPIs, and improvement plans.
- Establish effective systems for incoming, in-process, and final inspection.

1. Incoming Quality Control

- Define inspection standards for copper, aluminium, brass, tin, plating materials, insulating materials, and other incoming raw materials.
- Verify material certificates, chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, and other specified parameters.
- Coordinate with Purchase and suppliers regarding material quality issues.
- Develop supplier quality evaluation and improvement programs.

1. In-Process Quality Control

- Monitor critical manufacturing processes such as:
- Cutting and blanking
- Stamping / pressing
- Forging
- Bending and forming
- Machining
- Crimping
- Drilling
- Brazing/welding, where applicable
- Plating / surface treatment
- Insulation / sleeving
- Assembly
- Establish process parameters and inspection checkpoints.
- Ensure first-piece approval and line clearance before production.
- Monitor process capability and variation in critical dimensions.
- Implement SPC, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, and CAPA where applicable.

1. Final Product Inspection & Testing

Ensure finished lugs and terminals meet defined specifications through appropriate inspection and testing, including:
- Dimensional inspection
- Visual inspection
- Material verification
- Electrical conductivity/resistance
- Contact resistance
- Tensile/pull-out strength
- Crimp performance
- Current-carrying capacity, where applicable
- Temperature-rise testing
- Plating thickness and adhesion
- Salt spray/corrosion testing, where applicable
- Hardness and mechanical properties
- Torque testing
- Surface finish and burr inspection
- Product marking and identification
- Packaging and labeling verification

1. Laboratory & Measuring Equipment





- Establish and maintain the quality laboratory and testing facilities.
- Ensure calibration of gauges, measuring instruments, testing equipment, and laboratory equipment.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure traceability to national/international standards.
- Develop inspection methods and testing procedures for new products.

1. Customer Quality

- Handle customer complaints, quality concerns, returns, and rejection issues.
- Conduct root-cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, and Pareto analysis.
- Prepare corrective and preventive action reports.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Tool Room, and other departments to resolve recurring quality issues.
- Monitor customer rejection, PPM, complaints, and warranty-related quality issues.

1. Quality Systems

- Maintain and improve the plant's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Prepare and maintain SOPs, work instructions, inspection standards, formats, and quality records.
- Conduct internal quality audits and coordinate external/customer audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit non-conformities.
- Maintain document and record control.

1. New Product Development

- Participate in new product development and product validation.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements.
- Develop inspection standards and control plans for new products.
- Support PPAP/APQP activities where applicable.
- Approve samples and coordinate dimensional and performance validation.
- Work closely with Engineering and Tool Room teams during trials and process development.

1. Supplier Quality Management

- Evaluate and approve suppliers based on quality requirements.
- Conduct supplier audits where required.




- Monitor supplier rejection rates and incoming material quality.
- Drive corrective actions for supplier-related quality problems.
- Develop supplier improvement plans for critical materials and components.

1. Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to reduce rejection, rework, scrap, and customer complaints.
- Lead quality improvement projects using 8D, Kaizen, Six Sigma, PDCA, and root-cause analysis.
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs.
- Promote a strong quality culture throughout the organization.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) The Quality Control Manager will be measured on:
- Customer rejection / customer PPM
- Internal rejection percentage
- Rework percentage
- Scrap percentage
- First-pass yield
- Incoming material rejection
- Supplier PPM
- Customer complaint closure time
- CAPA effectiveness
- Audit compliance
- Calibration compliance
- Cost of poor quality
- Process capability of critical characteristics
- On-time closure of quality issues

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality systems.
- Good understanding of electrical lugs, terminals, connectors, and associated manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of dimensional inspection and testing methods.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances, and specifications.
- Experience with root-cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans, CAPA, and 8D.
- Good knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Familiarity with relevant product standards and customer-specific requirements.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Good leadership, communication, and team-management abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and quality-related reporting tools.

Educational & Experience Requirements

Education:

B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Metallurgy, or a related engineering field.

Experience:

8–12 years of relevant experience in quality control/quality assurance, preferably in manufacturing of:

Pay: ₹90,000.00 - ₹95,000.00 per month
